Lets have a look forward and select one player each for top O and D players, Top O and D surprise players and Top O and D rookies.

My top O player next year is Hunt. I believe that Lester will put him in position to get the most out of his talents and that he has a great year. My top surprise on O next year is Ash. He has as much talent as anyone on that side of the ball and given the physical O that i expect i fully expect to see him featured. My top rookie next year is RS Ward who i believe wins the LT position.

On D my top player is Sugar Bear. I believe he becomes dominant next year. The kid played all over the field and by years end was a true force. My surprise on D next year is Sloan. I know that some question if he even comes back. I believe that he does and i also believe he is part of a solid 5 man inside rotation. My rookie next year is Blair who i believe starts by years end.

Top O player - Devante McFarlane (liked what I saw from him down the stretch and not going to pick anyone involved in the passing game b/c I'm not an idiot)
Top D player - Zaire Franklin (think he wins the starting Mike job and is a force as a true soph)

Top O Surprise - Jamal Custis (kid is a weapon - maybe Lester can figure out how to utilize him - and as mentioned above, anything good coming out of the passing game will be a pleasant surprise)
Top D Surprise - Wayne Williams (playing to get drafted - fire gets lit under his butt this offseason as he sees opportunity for $$)

Top rookies? don't know, this season has sucked the will to give this any thought right out of me

Top O Player - Denzel Ward. Offense will be improved next year and people will look at the pieces that weren't there as the reason. Ward will hold down LT for at least the next 2 years.

Top D Player - Durell Eskridge. I think he comes back right now.

Top O Surprise - AJ Long/Alin Edouard. Everyone just kind of assumes Hunt wins the job. I think one of those two wins it and my money is on AJ Long right now. Also keep an eye on Aaron Roberts.

Top D Surprise - Jonathan Thomas. Wins an OLB job and begins contending for All ACC mentions. Plays at a level that is near Dyshawn Davis this season. Also keep an eye on Juwan Dowels, Cordell Hudson and Colton Moskal.

Top Rookie O - RB Dontae Strickland - RB's have battled injuries and poor production that are returning. If Lester really wants to focus more on running the ball, Strickland is in line to be the only newcomer on offense to get reps.

Top Rookie D - DB Marquise Blair - Best incoming DB recruit. Is going to get his chance for playing time.
