Kind of weird that these pundits keep talking up Chicago, Dallas and Baltimore when the Super Bowl winners the past 15 years for the most part have all had elite passing games.

Pretty much true except I’d argue that Broncos 16, Seahawks 14, Steelers 06 weren’t elite passing teams and all had elite defenses.

Excellent defenses keep you in games - and then you can steal games in the end by making a few key plays. You’re always in the game with elite Defensive play.

Yeah I mean that’s 3 out of the last 15 champs or so. Even that Ravens team that won a few years ago relied on Flacco going nuts.

Agreed. NE, KC, NO, and LA are the heavy favorites IMO. I’d be very surprised if someone else won it.

Does NE have an elite passing offense right now?

There is no doubt about that. Dallas showed that last night and there have been numerous examples over the years - as you cited - where defense was the main reason for a SB championship.

I'd bet even money right now that at least two of those four will lose their next game.

Yeah, maybe. I’d still bet on one of those 4 being the champion though.

Given the bye and HFA that should be the case. But it's wide open this year and the four you referenced are far from unbeatable.

Pats finished 4th in points scored but they are more balanced offensively this year than in years past.
Edelman/Gronk/James White/Hogan is enough with Brady he can throw.
You saw the Bills game where the game plan was to run the ball as the Pats realized the strength of the Bills D was pass D and weakness was run D.
So they ran for over 200 yards rather than air it out.

Pats aren’t as good this year but the offense isn’t middle of the road yet.
They have enough.

Cowboys are a HC and QB from a SB.
The rest of their roster is SB quality.
Garrett is a moron and Prescott doesn’t read defenses well. Cowboys will lose when they do because of Prescott.

I am scared of Flacco in Foxboro.
Same for Rivers.
Not Lamar.
Pats would double the TE and spy the QB.

It’s going to be extremely difficult for LA to win on the east coast in back to back weeks. If I were you I would root for the Chargers.

It’s going to be a tough game either way but your probably right.
Plus next week is suppose to be cold in the Northeast that would affect Rivers in the wind his passes have been a little duckish under pressure.

EDIT: LA

Still can’t remember they moved.

Rivers has to have the weakest arm in the league. Some of these passes seem like they’re in the air forever.

Weakest arm since Peyton in 2015.
Gotta give Eli the edge in arm strength to Rivers. Foxboro winds could hurt their passing game.

Bills fans - do you think we missed out on not hiring Anthony Lynn when we had a chance? Or do you think he would be about the same as McDermott with Buffalo's talent level?

If Josh Allen went 2/8 for 17 yards, 1 INT and a couple of fumbles, the H0T Takes would be coming fast and furious.
