Nice Job Seth Davis

Yes. Cleared that up.
Now, about the out of bounds call. The ball isn't out of bounds until it strikes something out of bounds. The ball is clearly still in the air (on it's way out of bounds, granted) when Triche gets leveled. That's a foul in any sport. The whistle for out of bounds doesn't blow until the ball strikes the UNCA bench players. So PRIOR to that whistle, should have been the foul whistle. Should have been two shots for Triche. Just giving us the ball was not as much of an advantage as it should have been.

And let's discuss the play at the end of the first half, shall we? Triche was fouled BEFORE the ball left his hands and was awarded continuation. Yes, the shot clock expired BEFORE the ball left his hands, but AFTER the foul. Should have been been shots for Triche.

exactly!...what's up with all the other guys throwing CUSE under the bus...the out of bounds / foul no call; the goaltend no call...
'em!

He just slammed cuse on the way out, said this is cuse without melo. We'll see.

I missed what Seth Davis said...someone please summate what he said. Thanks.

No...he explained that BOTH UNCA players committed lane violations on the FT play.

specifically, what did he say about the violation(s). I'm curious what the rule is for a violation by a guy outside the three point line.

The player outside the three point line can't go until the ball hits the rim.

my favorite part was when they tried to show the goaltend that went our way and showed the triche play where we were robbed. then they just ignored it.

The player outside the three-point line CAN'T CROSS THE THREE-POINT LINE unitl the ball hits the rim. The replay showed he was well beyond the free-throw line at that point. Blatant violation.

Yeah it's a clear violation. I know this because many years ago I tried to replicate the Jordan, come in from outside the line and dunk (ok in my case finger roll) of a missed ft and the ref called me for a violation and explained that the pro rule is different but at other levels it has to hit the rim. The out of bounds call was bad though. Not that I give a .

I was bouncing off the walls. Those jerks had NO IDEA why that play was being shown. It doesn't fit the narrative. Good god.

Anyone surprised the announcers didn't know the rule?

Me neither.

The announcers weren't hiding the fact they wanted Syracuse to lose. On that loose ball timeout, "fortunately UNCA gets the ball back to avoid the jumpball and giving it back to Syracuse."

I knew the rule and was yelling at Len Elmore about what a dumbass he is. Hakim WarWick send his regards Len.

Actually you guys need to get it right. It was Reggie Miller who was foaming at the mouth and not knowing the rules, making stupid anti-Syracuse comments. Len Elmore tried to defend Syracuse (by stating facts) on several occasions.

can't cross the foul line

can't cross the foul line

They said both on the broadcast. Not sure which is correct. Either way, he was in violation. They obviously didn't care, just wanted to Syracuse cheated.

Years ago, players were allowed to stand outside the lane below the foul line. guys on the offense tried to run in and grab the rebound as the defender blocked out the other guys. they finally change that and force guys not on the blocks to stand behind the shooter.
