please tell me nassib wont be your next crusade. You got that from some innocuous post?
Aren't you so damn funny.
please tell me nassib wont be your next crusade.
im not sure why hed have to watch out, isnt marrone some kind of offensive genius??Eli better watch out when Marrone gets the Giants job.
Would love to see it just for the entertainment factor.
im not sure why hed have to watch out, isnt marrone some kind of offensive genius??
isnt that why hes a 'hot' candidate for all the soon to be open jobs??
wouldnt that pairing bring another Lombardi??
we already know what marrone thinks of nassib...he doesnt want him, so its not like Eli will be leaped by him.
Good thing he hasn't started over Eli. We would have missed the playoffswhy he hasnt started over Eli the last 2 years is beyond all of us here in NYC.
i love it when people joke with me, for example dash. but i didnt see one in your post, unless you were trying to say doogie to the Giants, but we know thats not happening. What's the matter, can't take a joke?
Nassib isn't going to threaten Eli, he has a lifetime job.
The Giants have much bigger problems than QB. They could showcase him this week, get another mid round pick or two. With a new coach and GM they are going to be starting from scratch, if they can get value for another position they should do it.
BTW who ever claimed Marrone was an offensive genius. What he has demonstrated is that he is an exceptional rebuilder and manager who is demanding and an excellent attention to detail that gets results quickly from the worst of starting positions.
Nothing glamorous, just gets the job done. Made two disfunctional worst of breed programs and made them competitive immediately and winning programs in year two. There aren't many coaches that can say that once, let alone twice.
He won't be at that price in 2017. If they don't trade him in 2016, he might trade away for $5 million ish. Nassib is worth more than the 4th round pick the Giants used on him.i love it when people joke with me, for example dash. but i didnt see one in your post, unless you were trying to say doogie to the Giants, but we know thats not happening.
anyway, theres no reason to showcase nassib. for 675k, im not sure they could find better as a backup.
i get your point, but i dont think theyd get any more than a 6th or 7th for him.
he has Giants value as a backup, let him play it out and walk. then if he means that much, offer him close to 1mm per and let someone else beat that or go cheaper with a starting possibility.
im a big fan of value and usefulness of the backup QB, its so vital in practice...im pretty happy with him in his role.
care to explain??He won't be at that price in 2017. If they don't trade him in 2016, he might trade away for $5 million ish. Nassib is worth more than the 4th round pick the Giants used on him.
His rookie contract is up next year and the going rate for backups is about $2-5 million. Ryan might get $5 million guaranteed money on a new contract as a backup. A good backup is worth at least a fourth round and one with 4 years experience is worth more.care to explain??
Sweet Jesus!! 5mill guaranteed??His rookie contract is up next year and the going rate for backups is about $2-5 million. Ryan might get $5 million guaranteed money on a new contract as a backup. A good backup is worth at least a fourth round and one with 4 years experience is worth more.
If they don't trade him they obviously won"t use a franchise tag on him so they will have to compete with a lot of other teams.
In a strange way his inability to get on the field because of Eli's durability might work in his favor as he has no bad games on his record. Who knows?
We'll see. And every year NFL teams talk themselves into QBs.Sweet Jesus!! 5mill guaranteed??
the man has thrown 10 passes in garbage time!!!
how many meaningful snaps do you expect him to take next year??
in order to get that kind of $$ he will actually have to start and win games...in the NFL.
hes not hasselbeck, hell hes not sanchez and basically...good lord, he isnt even geno or EJ.
i was being generous to give him a 300k + payraise for 2017.
there is no reason for him to get anything more than a 2 year deal at the vet minimum with lets say a 500k signing bonus. if he can find a better deal, he should take it, but just know, every other team he goes to, he will have to compete for a roster spot...and he may have to on the Giants that year as well, but at least hes a known commodity in the film room and taxi squad team. thats his advantage...to the Giants.
and as for your last sentence...it doesnt work that way in the NFL.

The term "exceptional rebuilder" is a bit much, even for you. What's the matter, can't take a joke?

That said, I always thought Ryan was in a good spot when he got drafted. Eli isn't going to miss a game so as long as he plays we in his spots he will be seen favorably by other teams. Always thought the pick was for trade fodder, but I haven't heard about people knocking down the door for him. He deserves a contract wether it be with the giants or somewhere else, but $5 million a year guaranteed seems a bit much based on potential, this isn't the NBA.
HoF worthy?Nassib has the highest passer rating in NFL history for players with at least 10 attempts.
