I will tell you this for a fact. Adam is willing to meet. The school is not. And they couldn't have treated me more rudely if they tried. Now, I don't know what I don't know about all of this. But I do know how I was treated by BOT members and Kent.

The University is full of arrogant butt holes. They act like they're an Ivy League school, when they are so cheap, and so parochial in their views.

I just don’t see how it goes away. Guy lives in the community. People are always going to say why can’t we get him on board again. Wondering what if. It will be like tell me you’re starting 5 for 15 dollars.

As I said to someone once at a Cornell Grateful Dead show when I was tripping balls and encountered an annoying acquaintance:

"He's not really real. He's only here because we're thinking about him. If we would all just stop thinking about him, he would disappear,"

Boom. Truth bomb.

Stop thinking about him and he will just disappear.

I don't get why you bring one donor when discuss another. If you are making a point about why you don't care for him fine but what do the lallys have to do with why you don't like him
I never said I didn’t like him. I actually have heard he’s a good guy.i have heard he’s a very generous and fair person from a few of my friends that are close with him. I’m only stating my opinion as it pertains to su. I’m in marketing and I will tell you flat out he’s very good at what he does. The issue is everyone on either side is hot on this. It doesn’t go away. If I was working for him I would say to donate to a collective and get your foot back in the door. If he did that he would own the fans and media. My guess is his team just pushes the narrative aw wants without stating the contrary.

Here's the thing, Dash - why does Weitsman get to ask for "special considerations" when others give 10, 20, 50 times the money he has on offer?

What does he say to that? Why is he so special?

Hey I appreciate that. Like I said I have no dog in the fight but all I saw was opinions of negativity and I just couldn't let all the opinions go stated as facts.

Your line of thinking is the more ideal way for sure but when you have that cash, egos can get in the way. Its why I do feel like the 2 other sides have some ownership in this.

What are the special considerations? Not going through NIL channels?

Now you’re making shite up, potentially. Lol. You guys want to make him sound like la cosa nostra. Unless you know this wirh certainty, Stop already.
Making what up? He has a team that runs his social media. He literally posts about them. No one who has a social media team is responding to every comment individually. Especially one who does so at the frequency that AW does.

Beats me. But there's something making them say "no".
And I see what I see.

Obviously, SU is a private university and can run things however they please, but they have to know they are alienating a portion of their STH's, who might not be named Lally, but have supported the basketball program for a long time. Hopefully, this doesn't backfire in their face.

Would someone move all this conversation to another board, and lock this.
I hate having to keep scrolling to the end because children can't just stop talking about nonsense.

You can feel free to correct me, but AW hasn't delivered any tangible benefit to the program with his support. No big 5 stars signed, no big NIL contracts. He wants to be our World Wide Wes, but he's all hat and no cattle.

Ignore it. We are actually having a nice conversation. What is the point of locking it. Ridiculous

You could almost make that same argument regarding any donor to Syracuse athletics as the results have been somewhat lackluster.

Excluding what Fran Brown personally did raising funds in the last 18 months for the football program, there hasn't been much to cheer about.

And that may or may not have anything to do with AW, but it does have something to do with Wildhack and Syverud.

Except none of those other folks are begging for attention so badly, are they?

And how is the fact that AW craved some "attention " and some "recognition " for his donations, any different than other billionaires such as Phil Knight donating to Oregon, Mike Repole donating to St Johns or the Waltons or Tysons donating to Arkansas. None of them have been shy about what they donate, but those schools had no issue accepting their money.

Because they donated REAL money.

It’s been discussed. All of those individuals donate to the schools preferred collectives. Weitsman does not want to do it. That is the issue at hand here.

Think you misread or miscomprehended my post, not that it really matters.
I mean my comprehension does suck sometimes but that sentences was pretty short.

You aren’t saying anything factual there

Because he hasn't given anywhere near that kind of money.
But he wants to be treated like he has.

And because as was already said, those big donors donated to the school, or the AD. They donated and the publicity is in the form of a name on the building. Knight has his name on several Oregon buildings. Ryan family has their name on several Northwestern buildings. Pickens has his name on several OK State buildings. Walton and Purdue the same.
