Why don't I say that I only want him to do it through the existing collectives? I don't have a say in it and quite frankly, I don't care. This has nothing to do with me. It's what the coaches and the school want and need. It's about what is best for the school and the program. Not any one individual.

As a fan of the program, you can want that. But really, someone paying a kid $100k (or a mil in Weitsman's case) to shill for his product (or just him) is more in line with what NIL was intended to be than the system that emerged with all the collectives. None of this is charity (at least the vast majority isnt) and there is nothing wrong in wanting return on investment.

In the end, it all goes back to one overarching conclusion - the current NIL system is so fecking stupid its almost unfathomable and it is definitely not sustainable.

I have predicted from the start there would be an initial goldrush but it would level off since only 1 team can win a championship every year and eventually rich old people would get sick of spending money on 18-21 year olds that failed to win it all and then moved on to another school.

Was thinking about this more, mainly the timing with AW. Next year's team is going to be so different from usual.

AW and his private jets and exotic cars a few years ago might've been impressive to new guys, but not so much any more. He had all all his toys and money but now just looks like an old dude trying to hang out and be cool.

Think about this year, Kiyan is prob like no thanks old man I have my own businesses, family jets and cars and really don't want to look like a fool on your social media. Same for alot of the guys that can now get paid in High School and will make plenty their freshman year.

A stark contrast to today. I'm not an insider but it seems like both parties take fault in this. It's unfortunate, hopefully the schools and Adam come to their senses and be productive going forward for the sake of the program and community.

And that’s what concerns me. Of course this is a great opportunity that if things go well we all probably forget about the last decade, but if we have more games like this year with the double digit blowouts that very unfortunately could become a national story. Just see Stephen A Smith video from November comparing the Anthony’s to the James family.

I'm sure he does. If anyone can sponsor a call between Dasher and Adam as he is trying to reach him that would be a good thing for all involved as Dasher would like to speak with him and maybe try to help the situation out.
When I get back to Skaneateles I'm going to try myself. I dont know Adam. But I do know what he's done to help people and our town and I think he's a good person and obviously a great friend of JBs. I think it's crazy he's not involved.

We need help getting better players in the portal. Hopefully Melo and Co will help fund some high level portal additions.

Red also needs help with bench coaching and he needs to empower his guys. I’m pretty frustrated with the assistants. For example, Red was actually (for once!) taking the time to instruct a player on the bench about what he needed to do or did wrong. His back was turned away from the court for a moment talking with the player and Pitt was doing their 3/4 court pressure and our guys were slow to get the ball over the half court line. None of the assistants stepped up and shouted any instructions to our players about speeding it up or what to do, and we turned the ball over on a 10 second violation. They saw that Red was distracted. Get off your butts and help out! Even with JB being the big boss and issuing copious instructions from the bench, Hop, Red and GMac would also be up during the game and giving players instructions at times.

I refuse to believe that anyone, including Kent, will have a tough time with famous people being at the Dome. Now, I don't know Kent and will be glad when he is gone. But it would be worth my effort to have Kent, JW and AH talk and work something out. If what was better for the University was on the agenda.

Hey, just like when Bronny was at USC. Bunch of friends, that were also celebs, showed up, they were sub .500 and then usc got a new coach the next year.

In that sense, I wouldn’t be surprised if it mirrored it.

The only people that those celebs are helping are Melo and Lala. Which is fine.

Combined with the level of money that’s been rumored for a ****center****, Red is speed running to end his time at Cuse.

You’d think if weitsman and Kent can talk and patch this up, Kent would realize what a big fish for NIL can do. Hopefully once Melo starts putting some money in Kent will realize.
