100 percent thats what happened? That is what SU said or Lally or AW?

What do you mean there are buildings named after the Lallys. I don’t see the aw soccer field anywhere. I’m pretty positive they are also involved in football nil. Again as can donate anytime he wants.
That is not why there is this issue. What do you know that is not opinion.

You are assuming. Maybe he does maybe he doesn’t. Maybe he enjoyed what was going on before. I couldn’t tell you but again you don’t know. If you don’t care for him fine. Why do you care how he supports SU. You can’t say he doesn’t donate. He said he did. His words. It seems like your stance is based on how you perceive him.
Make no mistake, no matter how you see this situation, AW wants to be treated differently than any other booster, Everyone else makes their donation through the collective. AW refuses to do that. That is his right. It is his money. But it is also in the schools right to say, that is the only way to donate to the sports programs. Like every other booster. Now, from what I have been told through my unfulfilling journey through this subject, there are other matters that the school refuse to discuss publicly. Let's just say they have a totally different take on a number of matters that AW has said. I don't know where the truth lies. At this point, we have NIL to be competitive. It might just be a good time for both sides to walk away from each other. To be fair to the school, I think they already have when I consider how I was treated by even broaching the subject.

Totally fair. You a far more aware than I.

I just hate to see people pushed away for the wrong reasons. I do not pretend to have any knowledge of the situation. I dont care for people that act as their opinion is fact.

I was trying to find that for a response to someone earlier but I had too much other crap going on

Why is it that any time someone responds to your questions, you dismiss it as hearsay and opinion? Why do you say you have no side in this and yet vehemently defend AW's position alone? Why do you say it is OK for AW to want to donate "his way" but not OK for the Lallys or others to do the same? Related, why do you question SU's apparent position on not risking larger donations to please smaller ones?

Opinion here but without this being about donor vs donor, can't you possibly see the risk of AW doing what he wants in the name of SU without SU's oversight? Did SU or Choppa Moore's recruiters OK the rapper being on the flight? Did anyone check with the Moore family to see if that was OK? I got the impression from an interview with Moore's father it was a surprise and that not only did the flight/rapper not influence the decision at all, but it made him a little uncomfortable.

The NCAA used the stories of AW's efforts as the poster for "what not to do" and shared it with all compliance offices across the country. We have a less than stellar history with the NCAA. Is it so hard to understand that might contribute to the school not wanting AW involvement, especially independent of university input? What if something had gone wrong on that flight, with the people on board, or the flight itself? That gets cast in the news as an SU issue, not an AW issue.

Anything aw does has to be painted in the sky. That’s how I know fact from fiction. He helped out Dyaisha Fair and a few others. Hardly the millions the lallys have given. Put aside him remodeling his suite and paying a donation to get that suite. Truthfully I don’t care why these people donate money. The fact of the matter is he can donate to a collective anytime he wants. He doesn’t want to do that. If he wanted to help, he’s a “billionaire” there are ways to go around the university. He is friends with red so I’m sure he knows who red wants. He doesn’t do any of that. He’s using these two idiot players podcast to advance his own brand, that is the bottom line. Again if he actually wanted to do anything he could. HE’S NOT!!

I’m with you. Just crazy that the IG account by Aiden Media and now etan start bringing all of this nonsense to the forefront again. What’s the reason and how much are they being paid? Something is not adding up here. Why doesn’t he just go away? The attention?
I made a sarcastic comment on that Aiden Media post, and AW messaged me directly about it. I doubt I was the only one. It's especially wild considering I have a private account with approximately 4 followers

And that is an observation, not an opinion.

I have not dismissed anything. The people I have asked if they know for certain never said they did.

I never said it wasn't ok with Lallys to donate their way

If people don't know the truth why go after AW. I would have been the same way if Lallys were getting called out with opinions.

I dont know what you mean with the larger donation comment

I agree with most of the 2nd paragraph. Assuming that is what happened

Is the 3rd paragraph factual? You know for certain that happened?

I do believe things have changed since then as well so not sure if it is true it would still be an issue.

Ugh, this is never going to end. To the person who asked above why AW doesn't just find something else to support, I wonder that too. I think you have to wonder why this is still something. Why can't everyone just move on, and I don't think SU is the one who keeps putting this into the news.

I don't get why you bring one donor when discuss another. If you are making a point about why you don't care for him fine but what do the lallys have to do with why you don't like him

Was it a mean comment? Kinda weird. Like I said about Lally just an odd way to go about it

I made a semi sarcastic comment to a random burner account and wasn’t degrading or that serious and the account responded with my name and job. I was out at that point. It’s really not that serious at all.

Yeah. Not worth all that.

We get it. You are an aw fan. Just explain to me why he won’t donate to a collective like everyone else. Your defense of him is all smoke and mirrors.
I don’t know, I just asked him, waiting to hear back. I postulated and assume it’s for the reason I laid out in previous posts.

Fan? Not exactly. But I most certainly do appreciate anyone giving over $1 million to improve the chances of success to the teams, programs and University I follow love for 55 years now as well as the environment he contributed to, in a positive way IMO

Appreciate his generosity too to so many others in the community as well with his open box/open door policy for many, as well as his other contributions to the communities in other ways with the quality restaurants, etc. that are nonprofit, or his TBT work.

I appreciate further his charity work locally, charity contributions to all those celebrities causes as well as for providing some fun entertainment at the basketball games creating an enhanced environment to watch games.

I sincerely appreciate the good loyal sincere friendship he has with one of my childhood hero's, James Arthur Boeheim, and the way he supports and looks out for him and the whole Boeheim clan (whom I know firsthand over the many years)

This ain’t rocket science, all of this, and I remain mystified by a situation like this where a school in this unstable essentially no rules wild Wild West environment could so casually give up $2million NIL dollars a year going forward because they all can’t have a meeting of the minds to figure this out. Based on that podcast sounds like he remains willing.

And I hope all of you stop with the inferences of something further, more serious or even sinister going on with this guy, as to there being any other reason that the schools distancing themselves beyond the apparent problem with the big time donor, whatever that is, so put up or shut up all and any of yas doing that.

He has said in the past, one reason he doesn't want to donate to a collective is because there are administrative fees, typically. He wants to do it himself so that 100% of his money goes directly to the athlete. I am not sure if our collective(s) have fees.

Dude explains in that podcast why he’s still willing and wants in again.

Even Repole donates to the main St. John’s collective though.
Correct and why you ask does he have so much sway with that hoops team and Pitino suddenly. That’s right No football and no other alumns that are giving near what he is or have in the past. So Repole is the big fish there and the rules were rewritten around him.

AW wants to be the big fish for hoops but he won’t be Unless he somehow decides to give an amount that’s in line with the amounts the bigger donors are giving and have given in the past.

If he wants the rules built around him it’s going to cost alot more than whatever he’s offering.
