Wow. That's just frightening and horribly sad. The same parents that would vote for those nutjobs would not take kindly to having a gay kid. Those poor kids in that miserable state.

I was waiting for this. What's going to happen if he has one of his Airmen come out? Does the Air Force have a set of values they expect you to uphold?

Basically, no matter your personal beliefs, an Airmen who comes out as homosexual should not be treated any different that anyone else. The same guidance/rules that apply for race, gender, etc. apply for sexual orientation.

I never had an openly gay soldier under me in my squad, but I've served and deployed with two. I dont give a about your sexual preference, all I need to know is when hits the fan you can do your job. Both of these guys were outstanding soldiers, and I knew 100% that I could trust them with my life.

Exactly, I've never served, but I'd imagine that if the man next to you is competent and can be trusted to watch your back, you don't give a sh** what his sexual orientation is. Which, and this is jumping to another topic, I imagine will be the case with women now being able to get into combat. As long as WHOEVER is next to you can do their damn job, who cares who they like to have sex with when the bullets are not flying?

That is absolutely mortifying. Also noteworthy in that article, 40% of all homeless teens are LGBT, which you'd have to assume has to do with many being runaways trying to get out of a horrible and prejudiced home life in which their parents cannot accept who they actually are. Makes me weep for our nation and humanity in general.
