Late 60s/Early 70s or dead...Wouldn’t the 85 Bears be in their 60s now?
Wouldn’t the 85 Bears be in their 60s now?
There's a mini Ditkas joke in here.Wouldn’t the 85 Bears be in their 60s now?
"after much deliberation"I would also like to annouce I shall return for 2026!!
Thank you there will be no follow up question.
Really need to watch more than look at stats.
You can call the right D and a guy mis fills a gap or misses a tackle thats not all about the DC.
We have no play making DL. That limits big plays on D to help setup the 2-3 plays.
If we are going to play every year with below avg play on the DL there is only one choice to play down hill and isolate the Corners and thats a recipe for disaster.
Look at the Miami game. Really one bad play on D in the whole half and that flips they game to 7-0 then the pick 6 and the D is chasing the whole rest of the night after a solid 90% of a first half.
Much the same on offense. We call the perfect play vs the D and the oline cant block at all and the plays blow up.
If we can just get to avg on both lines then the OC/DC have more chances to succeed.
ND's rush offense could put up 350+ on Saturday and the defense will drift even closer to being the worse in the country - currently 123rd out of 134 in total defense nationally, allowing 430yards/game.Super helpful thank you. It's totally different than what I would have thought from the eye test (besides second quarter sucking, which i kind of expected).
Same take here. Finally listened and I put zero stock in that.I don't put much stock in that answer. Fran hates that question and usually says something like, "Come on, man. These guys have families. Why would you ask that?" It looked like he didn't have the energy to coach-speak that or has learned not to even entertain the question.
The DC is responsible for teaching and then demanding gap discipline, they’re responsible for Recruting the right talent on the D line and for calling a defense that plays to their strengths.Really need to watch more than look at stats.

Don't they have that now with D Brown and J Gattis?Hopefully they hire at least two former coordinators to help get some experience on staff.
Retaining Don Brown as well would be nice.
We get to a lot of gaps... and whiff. Sparrow is notorious for this. One of our quickest LBs but doesn't know what to do when he gets there. Most other LBs with non Canadian dinosaur names simply don't get there. Tremble needs to play more snaps with Deslauriers... this is our futureThe DC is responsible for teaching and then demanding gap discipline, they’re responsible for Recruting the right talent on the D line and for calling a defense that plays to their strengths.
I agree 100%, I just cant see giving ERob a pass on the above issues because it would seem to call into question the point of having coaches at all.We get to a lot of gaps... and whiff. Sorry meant specifically as much defensive help as possible.Don't they have that now with D Brown and J Gattis?
