600 yards of offense? Who care? That was the most ineffectual 600 yard offensive game I've ever seen. We seemed to be down by 2 scores with no hope the whole game. This was a 'depleted' MD defense that we could not score on. It was a blowout in nearly every way but the yardage and the score. Maybe we play MD 10 Xs and win 5, but play that game for 10-hundred more minutes and we never get within 2 scores. That kind of game.
Tough to build future SU fans when nearly every game I watch with my kid they stink. Cripes, I put him through 0-112, LIVE, last year alone. And might break 200 at Clemson this year. Me: 'Go SU'! TV: MD player running untouched for 90 yards. Me: 'Go SU'! TV: 'Pick 6'.
This is not rocketship science, need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot, from the coaches box down to the players. On that 90 yard play, our defensive players started in soft coverage, walked right into blocks, pursued at poor angles, I'd say they tackled poorly as well, but hell, they were never 10 yards within the player.
Randy Edsall and his assistants out-coached the SU staff again. Dude really gets up for this game. Maybe MD's players are better, I don't know, but that was some serious out-coaching.
Lots of injuries as well. What's the long-term prognosis on Broyld? That MD player's knee, that was horrifying.
84, Broyld, and Hunt are studs. Really fun to watch. Definitely hope for the future. Need to right the ship.
