Noel

Calling Francis... Need some positive news on this front... No way he doesn't fit our style as well...

Everything ive read says he's skipping college.

Skipping college, going to Kentucky. Same difference.

What do you expect when one minute the kid has his sights set on being developed by the King of Syracuse, only to be blindsided by the stinging pimphand of reality, realizing you are now forced to go with option B, and be coached by a two bit hack like Cal?

Isn't Noel's teammate Goodluck Okonoboh being recruited by Syracuse as well. If he is telling Noel's to go to Kentucky that doesn't look too good.

Maybe Goodluck is trying to improve his own chances of coming here. Get Noel out of the way.

The video is better than the article. The author took some of their quotes out of context a little bit when he wrote the article. They did say Kentucky during the video, but they were mostly like wherever he fits best. I think it was Seldon who was talking about him fitting at UK and said something to the extent of better yet, Syracuse, where he'll be sitting in middle of zone sending shots back.

Haha I wish.

This quote though has filled me with concern. “I’m thinking I’m going to go with Kentucky for Nerlens, too,” Okonoboh told Five Star. “I feel like he’ll fit the system right. Plus, Nerlens’ looks like he could be a one-and-done. He keeps working hard, he develops his game here, go to college and be a one-and-done.” My only hope is that he was just joking

Honestly, unless Fab starts talking draft I am not going to worry all that much about Noel. He would be a dynamic presence, but he isn't going to sit a year and he isn't going to have a polished offensive game at the college level. While getting yet another stud center over this run we are on would be great, the pieces just don't really fit all that tremendously in this case, at least enough to worry about it for the next year.

Are you saying Fab is gonna stay 2 more years? I find that highly unlikely. Noel would be coming here in 2013 which is perfect timing for Fab to leave for draft after 11-12 season.

Ah yes... apologies for the brain fart.

Isn't UK going to run into some APR qualifying issues if they keep taking all of these one and done kids? You can't have 90% of your recruits leave school within 2 years and expect to stay eligible for the NCAA tourney.

SEC schools are not affected by these "qualifying issues". That's for lesser schools.

You need to educate yourself regarding APR guidelines. Dont be a hater.

As long as Cal has them enrolled in basketweaving and has tutors teaching them the weave they remain in good standing at the University. Therefore it doesn't effect their APR.

And I'll stand by my prediction that Noel's feet never touches a collegiate floor.

I'd love to see the 4 classes Cal's players are taking their first semester, frosh year. I can only imagine how "difficult" the course load is: History of Hip Hop Music, Teaching Art to Pre-Schoolers, Social Media in America, Tweeting for Dummies.

Awesome...I asked a question (which are communication devices usually used to educate one's self). Thanks for the answer, genius.
i dont think it matters how long a kid stays, as long as he is in "good academic standing" when he leaves. so for instance the UK kids, as long as they "go to class" and "pass their classes" UK is fine.

he was just kidding... and APR isn't affected as long as the student leaves in good academic standing.

At this point I think BeeJay Anya is our most likely big man in 2013. I still think Noel's situation could end up just like Andre Drummond. He'll either be in college or overseas next season imo.

What's the APR?

Nothing to see here.

Team takeover connection should help, right?

What happened to Dakari Johnson "the best 14 year old in the country"? He was class of 2014 and had SU as his favorite team at one time.

If I'm thinking of the correct kid that attended St. Pat's last year, he transferred to Monteverde Academy in Florida when his coach got a job down there.
