Not a great start

i'm glad we hung close and i'm glad espn1 ran the game and gave the fans a real show.

yep - get to try to work out the FO's and GB's issues

Unfortunately we have been working on it for three years, not sure we will be able to clear up the FO issue until we go with a new guy or maybe a new technique or something.

We've had some of the best FO men in college lax history. Has the coaching staff ever brought any of them back to teach the techniques to the current players? I'm thinking that Desko should borrow a strong, quick football player from Marrone and put him in the X. Have him trap and cover the ball, bump the other guy out of the way, and shovel it to the wing. Then, off the field with him. ;)

Do you really think the problem today was the faceoff guy? I must be watching a different game because I rarely saw our guy lose the head-to-head battle. The problem, I thought, was the wings. They sucked. They were consistently beaten to the ball(especially # 20)and couldn't pick up a groundball to save their lives. BIG downgrade from last year when we had Joel White and Jovan scooping up everything.

Quint is a great analyst but for him to say after a measly 2-0 lead against the greatest program in history "this could get ugly" is borderline lunacy. He's better than that

Yeah and it was two minutes into the game. I thought the exact same thing 690.

I like Quint but he's such a southern homer sometimes. He had a few dousy's today. One was him saying, "syracuse is playing man to man but they are packing it in" and as he's saying that I'm watching 3 su defenders picking up at the top of box, that's not exactly 'packing it in'.

I thought the face off wings were invisible today and were the bigger problem then the guy at X.

And again, the man up offensive scheme is terrible. frankly embarassing. I'm never seen a man up team hold and run with the ball as much as this (and last years) syracuse man up team. the scheme is terrible.

i don't care if you're in a 3/3, 1/3/2, 1/4/1 or a 2/2/2 the object is to move the ball quickly around the horn to get the defense to move. You can squeeze the d in tighter and there's space open on the pipes, and when utilizing skip passes the d can't play everybody. Our man up offense almost resembles what we're tyring to do 6 on 6; with a drive one side then turn around and pass backwards 2 times. silly.

I thought all in all today was very encouraging and I generally liked the way we played, this team can for sure contend for this year's title. Looked like we started panicking in the 4th, got tight and took some bad shots. I see some kids emerging though.

WHY syracuse shooters will never bounce shots I'll never know. Sure rippin a top corner pocket is a great feeling but man o man guys like amidon and now marasco if they ever put a 98 mile an hour worm burner on cage it would be tough to stop. Just look at that 2 the UVA kid knocked down. hard bounce shots please.

seems like the wings in particular and whole team in general have a tough time scooping up a loose ball in traffic. i think that's where the faceoff issue really lies.
