Not renewing season tickets thread...

I gave mine up the year they fired Shafer. I catch a game a year in person and to be honest that’s about all I have in me. Syracuse has killed the passion for the football team inside me. I still bleed orange but now I just don’t have the orange colored glasses anymore.

Fellas like you are becoming the equivalent of WW2 vets. Pretty soon all the diehards that renew every year will be memorialized.

getting kicked in the nuts
cleaning porta potties at the Chili festival
volunteering to clean the "video booths" at Adult World
watching Syracuse football
doing roofing in July
digging through dumpsters to find broken glass.

I'm definitely renewing.

The people on this board are mostly diehards or they wouldn't be on this board. So, not surprised all the people saying they'll renew. But it's the newbies or 2018 bandwagon joiners who don't even know this board exists who will abandon ship after this year. Wildhack was very transparent in preseason in announcing new number of season tickets. I'm sure he'll be just as transparent in next year's preseason when the media asks him how many season ticket holders did not renew. We lost so much momentum this season and it hurts real bad.

I don't fault any decision but as stated above, out of all the time you have had season tickets I'm not sure this would be the year to drive me away.

I’ve had season tickets for over 25 years. Typically I hit 2 games a year and farm out the rest to local family (since I’m not local). Never really had issues giving away tickets to family until this year, had no takers for the BC game and Wake.

This year is different - with GRob you were hoping maybe a miracle would happen and we wouldn’t stink. This year people were hoping for an Orange Bowl bid preseason, and a bowl game was a foregone conclusion. Then we get GRob caliber results. It’s the worst delta between expectation and results in my time as a fan...plus it’s coming off one of the best deltas from last year. Combined, I do think that makes this year far more soul crushing to fans than the GRob era years.

I’ll keep me season tickets for next year - but the games I don’t go to will probably get donated to BBBS instead of given to family. They’ll need to see positive results again before they go all in on Syracuse football.

Like i said. I don't know what I'm doing. Likely renewing but planning to come less but can change one way or another depending on how Dino chooses to address this team's deficiencies.

My rule is...if they have given up, I will give up. If they are fighting, I'll support them. As is stands it appears the team has given up on the season and for that reason I don't anticipate coming back for Wake. If Dino does what needs to be done to fight for this program in the off season, I'll renew. If not, I probably won't.

Right. And the D seems on a hair trigger too. When the offense was scoring early, which was different, it seemed they were at least showing SOME effort. But when the offense started to revert, and I really think that run on 3rd and goal from the 8 was around the beginning, the D seemed to fall apart mentally.

I hate to say it but I agree. Granted I just watch the games on tv, but it's even been tough doing that. I haven't turned one off yet, but I find myself messing around on the internet to distract me
