Not the only reason we lost -- but what a screw job from the officials

Should've been a first and goal on the two though
Not illegal touching as far as I know if the WR is pushed OB. Not even sure he was OB...his foot seemed to be close to the line but not sure if it was over.
Didn't like like he stepped out of bounds to me either when they showed the replay. it was close, but looked like his foot was inside the line right at the marker

Brutal.

I'd forgotten about the lopsided officiating we got two years ago down there. More of the same tonight.
Sometimes I wonder if Syracuse will ever get a fair shake in this conference... There was a strip in the first quarter but blown dead because forward progress was deemed stopped... But there were numerous times after where the whistle could have been blown for forward progress but it never was... See Richards sack in QB for example...

The no call on the late hit on Devito was second only to the no forward progress call on the Dungey pitt fumble. Both screwed us.

Should’ve been a Boeheim jacket off moment.

It's a relief to see this thread b/c I posted about the horrible, one-sided the officiating in the Clemson game ("Southern cooking") and got flamed. This was more of the same in a much closer contest ... highlighted by the bizarre ruling that Cam was pushed "out" by the CB. Not only was the PI on him ignored, the replay shows that his foot barely grazed the marker - the one that is INSIDE the endzone. Therefore, unless he stepped out earlier (I don't think so), the Ref was basing his "out" call on contact with inside part of the cone - which is 4-5 inches within the EZ. Amazing that a D-1/ACC ref thought the cone was "out". There should be a league review. The fact that Greensboro didn't even look at the play is more evidence of the clownshow at Pettycoat Junction.

The bottom line is ... the defense played really well for having 2-3 starters out. The LBs are improving ... despite Army's lack of mobility against ACC teams. But the most glaring issue with this team is the OL ... which is a mess. Failing to get the running game going invites the opponent to double cover the WR's. That makes us one dimensional, and puts even more pressure on TD. He had some mistakes and is clearly not 100%, so I was impressed to see him gut this one out. We had a chance to win at the end ... but just couldn't get it done. After 6 games I don't know whether the OL's going to come around this season.

Yeah, I don't understand that.

Babers said it best in post game “you ever see remember the Titans” referring to the game where they got hosed Bc of officiating. That was a perfect description. And then said “what were the penalties 12-4?” Yes Dino you’re right. Some were huge impact plays regardless of the outcome these calls affect momentum nonetheless

We needed a Yost to go out there and tell the official he'll go to the papers.

In general we were outplayed, but man the reffing was horrid.

I thought our receivers were absolutely mugged in the end zone on both the third and fourth down plays on the drive that we did not score. no flags ????

Also on the last drive after the offside, how was that not a personal foul when they threw tommy to the ground ???

Other than those few horrid non critical calls the refs did just fine and dandy.

It wasn't horrid. It was how they want it. Cuse will never get a fair shake in this backwater league. Most especially against the originals.

Hoops gets it worse..

even the very last play of the game. Their guy jumps first and then our guys move. Should have been on them and not a false start.

Problem is that our left tackle jumped at the exact same time. And both jumps were after DeVito clapped his hands (which is also when the defensive end took off).

No one is going to give us that call, even if it would have been the correct one.

It really looked like everyone but the center was on the same page. Turned out that the left guard was also on that page. Maybe the right guard jumped because of that DE.

I don't understand with the clock winding down why the snap wasn't immediate on that first clap anyway.

Not calling the hit on DeVito is 1000% inconsistent with how games are called.

And as for Jordan, I think he was pushed out, and was THEN interfered with. Thought that was hot garbage.

agree. (and the last play didn't matter just another in a line of bad calls.).

Jordan was definitely pushed out, if he was even out at all. Did they show him actually out of bounds?

The one non-call in the endzone I thought might have been the worst of the night. I thought on replay it was textbook face guarding. Seemed like contact was made, the DB never looking back jumps and raises his arms straight in the air. what am I missing.

Per the NCAA rules analyst "if the defender doesn't look back, makes himself an obstacle and makes contact with the receiver, a flag can be thrown (an easy call most of the time). If the defender does not make contact, however, no flag"

Yeah, this one... I just don't even know. The Jordan one is a head scratcher.

Looking at it, our WR at the bottom of the screen starts moving with their DE prior to any of our OL moving

yeah. Like Chip said, at the very least they move at the same time so we get flagged.

The fact they didn't even call the false start then on the right guy/position shows their ineptness.

Here's the thing. If Tommy throws that ball to the end zone like he is supposed to its either a TD, an INT, or an incomplete. The clock wouldnt be running.

Are you referring to the 3rd down where he got sacked? If so, I agree. He just can't take a sack there, but you see it happen all the time in college.

The officiating was undoubtedly bad and pretty one-sided to NC St. favor. As Coach Mac used to say (paraphrased): Play a better game so that bad calls don’t determine the outcome. Our offense and Special Trams played like crap so the horrible calls were magnified.
