Notre Dame / ACC

Um no. Notre Dame WILL NEVER JOIN the Big Ten. Michigan blackballed them and ND has never forgot that.
If ND has to join either the Big Ten or ACC it will be 100% ACC ask any ND fan and they will say the same.

That is absolutely true, for several reasons. One, ND hates the Big Ten. Two, there are the exit fee and GOR issues. Three, ND signed an agreement that IF football has to join a conference before 2027, it has to be the ACC.

This is also academic as ND is not joining the ACC either.

13-0 or 12-1 utah winning the pac12 champ??

game set match.

nd watches.
That would never happen in a million years. A 1 loss ND would always get in over Utah, the committee would find a way to justify it

No evidence other than the committee has never ranked anyone else in the final top 4 other than conference champions. True we have only 2 examples, but both are consistent.

You're out of your mind.

Three weeks ago you said Utah would get in with two losses over a one loss ND if they won the Pac12 title. That was never gonna happen.

I got news for ya ND WILL NEVER JOIN the ACC.

If ND were about maximizing their chances at playing in the playoffs the easiest route is through the ACC.

UNC screwed themselves by playing 2 FCS teams. But had they played any P5 program instead of 1 FCS, they jump Oklahoma on merit.

If ND were added to the ACC for football, they'd go 4 pods (hat tip to Alsacs). If they didn't do that they'd put them in the coastal and get Navy or (gag) UCONN/WVU to play in the Atlantic.

You're wrong on ND this season and any season. A 1 loss ND team won't hop over any conference champ, but especially one who plays in a conference title game.

When ND is good enough to qualify for the F4 they will qualify. Simple as that.

If UNC had an additional FBS win they would not have gotten in over OU. You're dreamin'. So I guess conference champions matter some times? ACC was too weak this year.

Why the obsession with ND joining the ACC? It's never gonna happen and it certainly wouldn't accrue to SU's benefit if they did join.

You think UNC would have gotten in if they had beaten Clemson?

If Arkansas didn't have that crazy last second win over Ole Miss (which would have eliminated Bama from the SEC title game) do you think the SEC winner btw Ole Miss and UF would have made the F4? I'll answer for ya - NFW.

That's just one of several criteria which you need to read again. It's 12 people in a committee - they choose whom they want to choose.

Nope, I said the only team who will have a real fighting case when the ACC, SEC and b1g hold serve, will be a 1 loss Utah...after beating the same Stanford team that obviously your beloved nd couldn't beat anyway...over a non-champ game playing Bevo champ.

This is like the 8th time I've had to remind you of this posting fact, you ok bro??

Take a time out and watch the playoffs, go sit with Kelly.

It's ok.

It's certainly tough to be treated worse than a G8, as you guys get strung along for media purposes, isn't it??

YAY! We're fighting about Notre Dame on a Syracuse board

That fight wouldn't happen if a few folks could get over their strange notion that ND would somehow be interested in or would benefit from ACC football membership. They hate ND but somehow know what's in their best interests.

Utah already had two losses when you said that.

You revealed yourself to be clueless when you said the powers that be didn't care about TV ratings and TV dollars. It's ok to be a hater but don't be a dumb one.

Or if a few folk would not jump right in and vehemently defend ND whenever and wherever they are mentioned.

It goes both ways, you know

"Violently" ? LOL.

The general argument seems to annoy you but what is your opinion? Will ND join the ACC? And if so why would it benefit them?

Autocorrect. I fixed it.

Personally, I don't think ND will join any conference until they have no path (or no realistic path) to the championship. There is just no other reason for them to join. I think if they ever do join a conference, barring some cataclysmic change in the landscape, it will be the ACC. Other than NW, they really don't have anything in common with the B1G. And no one is ever going to confuse NW and ND, athletically.

It is very difficult for them right now for them to make the playoff. I tend to agree with Kaiser that it would be very difficult for an 11-1 ND to make the Final Four. Things would have to break just right for them. Not impossible, but very difficult.

I agree with your first paragraph. Don't agree with your second one. ND was well positioned to get in until they won by 3 points over a weak BC team. That was a killer. A solid win there and a missed 47 yard FG by Stanford at the end and they're in. Not playing a conference title game can certainly be a disadvantage although Clemson wouldn't have felt that way if they lost last weekend. It's always gonna come down to resumes and ND usually plays a tough enough schedule that one loss will get them in at least half the time. Hey one loss wasn't good enough for OSU this year.

Umm, no they most certainly did not.

And

Of course ratings and tv $$$ matters, that's why they created a playoff.

They don't need nd any more for that.

It's built, people will come and watch.

nd is necessary for those antiquated things in the lower bowls, where they wil always be.

Did I delete any of your posts? Or his? What are you talking about?

There should be no reason to delete any of my posts. I'm just expressing my opinion. Yet it annoys you to no end. But how is it I'm expressing myself violently when he's his usual belligerent self?

Vehemently. Not violently.

Lower bowls like playing Ohio State on New Year's Day despite having two losses. What time time does your beloved Utes play this month. LOL. You gotta be one of the only people in the country that thinks that Utah would be anywhere near the draw that ND is. ABC execs would commit hari-kari if the Utes were forced upon them.
