Notre Dame looking to pull out of SU game

I think that is fake news. They need two ACC road games. Unless they change Stanford to a road game, I don’t see it.
I think because of the new deal with Clemson and maybe FSU, their deal playing 4-5 ACC teams might have changed.

Not sure if it is true, but I would welcome it, take a paycheck for the buyout and schedule another power 4 school that is more of a toss up game. Sign me up for a game against a Big 12 school like Ok State or Colorado, or even a bottom feeder Big 10 school like Purdue again.

There aren't teams looking this late for another P4 opponent, especially on the road.

I don't believe the rumor to be true, but if it is then we better get 7 home games next year. At least that somewhat justifies the STH price increase. If we have only 6 games and no ND it will kill STH sales IMO.

I agree, and as a fan it’d be cool to see a team like OK State or Colorado play in the dome. I understand it’s not ND, but I like the chance of winning combined with a unique opponent.

FSU dropped the ND game due to the new 9-game s conference schedule. When the 9-game conference slate was implemented ND knew they would have to accommodate some changes and were probably considering all options within the ACC slate of games.

I did a quick search but there isn’t a lot of fuel for this fire. If anyone has solid sources, please share.

There isn’t IMO.

Notre Dame needs a 2nd ACC road game and needs 10 P4s. So this isn’t coming from them.

On the ACC side moving ND around should only impact schools that have 2 OOC P4s and don’t want 11 P4 games (9 ACC + 2). That isn’t SU.

Edit
I bet the rumor is UNC. They have TCU is Dunblin plus 9 ACC. So they will be replaced.

Thank, OrangeExtreme.

They have no logic for dropping SU. As the one guy stated he hopes it’s not UNC as he wants to go to UNC but schools generally base their decisions on more than a fan’s whim.
