Notre Dame vs The World

This guy just keeps acting like a little b*tch and I’m just not sure why. He’s making them look worse. You want your independence, then don’t be shocked by a lack of interdependence because ACC TV promoted Miami. Go get the Peacock social media team to retaliate.

Related: I just don’t like Notre Lame.

I love you all but this is sounding like a bad case of envy of ND. ND is more prestigious when you look at the totality of their academics and athletics the SU...can we accept that?

Reaction What GIF by CBC

Are we hearing the first murmurs of the conferences being done with Notre Dame's prima donna act?

Is it too late to void the MOU for the future CFP?
I was thinking the same thing - the reaction to this has been universally negative towards ND. The desperation of the ACC is their best card right now it seems.

Honestly this is by far the most ACC pride/solidarity I have felt since we joined the conference. Everyone coming together to hate on the most annoying team/fanbase in the nation is quite wholesome. This is the first time I have ever even acknowledged something the ACC comish has said, let alone approved of it. Maybe we can all finally embrace the present and move on from our Big East past now that we have something meaningful to rally around.

What does that have to do with their crocodile tears. Taking their ball and going home like a spoiled child. Envy has nothing to do with that.

I'm all for ND joining the ACC as a full member. If they don't like the ACC positioning it's full members first, then simply join. Or GET OUT! I really don't much value to the ACC in the current situation. ND needs to schedule games against someone. If not the ACC teams, then fine.

Tired of ND wanting it both ways - value of a conference for all sports but football, and independence for football.

Their sanctimoniousness trademark is innate, borne and inherited from the broader entity in which they bestowed themselves upon.

The little guys protecting each other lol

I do think when the B1G and SEC get done picking apart both conferences, there will be some kind of merger of the ACC and Big 12. The big question is whether the SEC and B1G recognize it or not for football..

I’m convinced people associated with Notre Dame football think it’s 1960. They aren’t that important anymore.

I agree, along with considering the relatively small size (eliteist) type private school that it is.

ND hasn't anywhere near the stature and weight it once carried in the US, parallel to the causal related Catholic religion, which has continued its general decrease and, let's just say, significance it once possessed in this country.

As a 100% Italian, raised strict Roman Catholic, I'm opining from my circle/experiences of familia, etc. Most of my elder relatives, etc., including my today 95 year old dad, were/are huge ND fans, strictly due to its Catholic identity, ties, etc. However, this affiliation, interest, etc. doesn't exist anywhere close to the same degree with my generation of relatives, and certainly not with the younger.

Being a relatively small private, along with the mentioned general decrease in the Catholic significance, et al, I imagine moving forward, ND's noteworthiness overall will likely only continue to fade as well in the general realm.

So let me get this right. Notre Dame will never join a conference because its independence is in its’ “DNA”. However blaming the ACC for ND’s own predicament by preferring a full conference member who even beat them on the field, sure doesn’t seem to be a move by a truly independent competitor does it? Why not blame Alabama and the SEC? Why does Notre Dame cry when that independence they claim so self righteously, hurts them, becoming the “we want our cake and eat it too program”? Is it the ACC’s fault they lost to Miami on the field - how independent are you when you cry loudly about a conference not putting your program, a non conference member above a conference member who beat you on the field? Does Notre Dame think they are so entitled that the SEC, Big 10 etc would lobby on their behalf above a full conference member who beat you? Why? What truly is your meaning of independence, TerryD?

Hmm, is it not simply...bullies gunna bully? And, "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind."
