Sorry for the late report been extremely busy.
Despite the struggles of the football team the fine lot tailgate got out of the gate in a hurry on Friday. We did well over 100 people and tomcat took the ice bucket challenge despite being in the middle of a tailgate and having very little time to prepare.
We utilized a bit of a new system this year and it seems to have worked out very well and the wristbands were a hit amongst the younger crowd. We were treated to a world class Jambalaya and TexanMark and JSorange grilled up dozens of Hoffmans Cooneys and Dogs. Not to mention the classic spicy meat sticks from Leighs and S's, mac and cheese (two sheet pans worth), chicken wing dip, crescent rolls, several bags of chips, cheese and crackers, and several trays of brownies and chocolate covered pretzels. There was also a very large cookie sheet cake for one of JSorange's sons who seemed to have a great bday celebration including a rendition of happy birthday led by TexanMark. I would like to thank everyone for coming out and everyone who assisted with brining a requested item, cleaning up, or helping to take overflow supplies. A big thanks to Cusenewbie, Texan Mark, Sutomcat, lincolncuse, gocusecaz, Consigliere and his entire crew, Bees, Retro, and many others that I am sure I forgot.
Moving forward we are planning to continue to utilize the wristband process and the $5/$10 per person charge. If anyone has any questions about a future fine lot tailgate or any questions in general please send a PM to myself or TexanMark.
Not to end on a negative note but I was made aware of a situation that occurred during the post game drinking/game review session where a comment/remark was made to a member of the tailgate crew in regards to the availability of the now famous Football helmet jello shots during the prior portion of the pre game tailgate. Please note that the person who makes these shots is a family member of mine and she does them on her own time with her own funds and uses top shelf alcohol. When she chooses to make them available to the general tailgate is usually my call. Due to the amount of children at this tailgate, the warm temps, and the overall rush of this busy tailgate we made them available for less of a time then we normally do. In the future please have all concerns addressed to either myself or Mark.
