Unfortunately I’ve heard that’s highly unlikely. And even if it does get approved, I don’t think it’s likely he comes back here. Let’s just say his agent has an interesting connection to the prior regime.

He’s being relegated to glue guy in ideal world. Hes got the skill set for it. Just think getting the program defining PG is hardest to close on. If Gerry can sell like MCW/Gbinije growth to someone than go for it.

Reading up on some comments regarding players...Greene's a good example.
He's got talent. But this year's offense was a sandwich. I had the feeling Greene really
didn't have a grip on his role on offense. Defense too...When we would half court press, Greene
would be at the top, trying to initiate a "trap".
And I think Kiyan was kind of in similar straits. Just what was my role on this year's team?
And this is why Autry (I'll be kind) had a lack of success the past 2 seasons.

GMAC(if it is him) as others have said, will have a talk with some players. This will be your role and this will be what you have to work on starting tomorrow. I expect you at "this level" by September. Any questions...?

Kidding, but seriously I'm not sure. I'd like to see a lot of our guys come back - I really think the coaching was that bad, the talent is there. It sounds like Doty, Folefac & Moesch will be coming. I'd be surprised if Donnie came back truthfully.. Given the NIL we are here I am expecting a big time difference maker at that other guard and Center spots.

White may make the Burgan soph leap. Athletic guy who needed a year. But he was as guilty as anyone of ball watching on rebounds rather than crashing or boxing out. Needs to improve effort.

Betsey gone unless he’s ok as 10 minute guy and more if he gets hot. He’s a one dimensional player that could only hit open threes. Can’t create his own shot or come off the screen. Poor defender, poor effort. Bad passer. Would rather use his roster spot for Folefac.

Souare needs to go. He’s a third string center/3rd string power forward type. We could do better.

Womack and Fennell. They can stay or go as long as it doesn’t cost us anything.

Freeman. One of the two hard ones. The guy is skilled but he is soft. How many times did he drive the lane and dunk? . Avoids contact. I just get vibes that if he was the fourth scoring option on a team like Duke or Kentucky, He would look much better and we would regret losing him.

George. He’s the other tough one. Only guy on the team you could rely on to shoot free throws, and seem to get fouled a lot toward the end of the year. Also had a nice pull-up jumper from mid range that became pretty reliable the second half of the year. However his turnovers were maddening, and did a poor job fighting through picks on D.

If Kingz comes back, he’s a keeper for sure, but would love to see him drive to the basket and go hard rather than always a jump stop and then not finish or kick out 1/2 the time. He needs to be more explosive, which I think he’s capable of..

If we kept that nucleus of the team together, and spent our money on a top notch seven footer, and two guard/combo guard that gets paid what JJ was getting paid, but earns his money every game, and added Doty and Folefac I would be content. I’m worried that White will not be able to replace Freeman‘s offense, and we don’t get a top-flight point guard that was better than George, if those two guys left.

Agree with you are the use of George, and more explosive wings as well. I loved Kyle, but we just got abused defensively by any big who could play in the post. That included in the mid majors. Also, we had no ability to play inside out with him on offense as well. Which is not a necessity, but a nice luxury.

Yeah unless Doty can hit 37 or higher from 3… I don’t see any world he and Kiyan both are starters if the roster is built correctly.

Kiyan is a bench player on any good team. That is indisputable. If we are planning on starting him next season it is over before it starts.

If we take anymore then 2 Siena players we got issues, that team did not win the regular season title in their league. If we got 10+ million in NIL id prefer almost a complete rebuild keep Kingz if we can, White, and Anthony because we have to, I would not overpay Freeman, he will be paid significantly probably to Providence, i would not match it. If the goal is to make the Tourney we have to get a serious infusion of talent.

Good summary. I’m not gonna comment on the backcourt as much because I think 100% gmac will go get the best point guard in the biz that plays how he wants them too.

At the 3-5 you got me excited about having enough money to get much taller and bigger. Keep Kings and some depth guys from Siena but go buy a front court that looks like Michigans.

That “talk” makes sense for Donnie since he has a ton of talent/athleticism. Kiyan does not just need to play harder. He needs to get a heck of a lot stronger and faster so he can actually play competent defense and draw attention/double teams off the dribble against top D1 competition, and he needs to shoot a boatload better from range and the line. It’s different than a guy who has high level talent but needs consistent effort and motivation. He needs to be a way better basketball player if he wants to play.
