Let's talk about 2018, where we only have an away game at ND scheduled OOC and 2019, when we only have Holy Cross at home and a game at Maryland in place OOC.

Michigan just dropped a home and home series with Arkansas scheduled to be played in 2018-19 to play Notre Dame instead. Syracuse could probably jump into that void with Arkansas if we want to continue to play ridiculously hard OOC schedules in future years.

And people are counting on Herm to bring Wildhack up to speed?

This Herm stuff is over exaggerated. It really hasn't been that bad. We've also been in flux with coaches, AD's, new conferences, dome considerations, etc.

If you believe the stuff on this board, he pushed for Babers over Ash. He and Floyd.

Wildhack's a big boy. I think it will go how he wants moving fwd.

Agreed. Though I would be okay playing a low level P5 like Kansas, Indiana, Rutgers, etc...

I could get on board with this also. A home and home with KU would be great. My opinion on that has NOTHING to do with the fact it would be a 45 minute trip to Lawrence to see the game for me :)

2019 doesn't seem too daunting to fix. With a 1-AA and a P5 OOC already scheduled, just find some combo of American/C-USA/MAC teams to fill the 2 spots.

We really only have 1 OOC for 2018?! Yikes, that's poor planning, to say the freakin' least. Same strategy though, buy a 1-AA and find 2 from American/C-USA/MAC.

What time does the tailgate start and what do you want us to bring? Mark gets a weekend off from planning the festivities.

HA! Uh, maybe I better rethink this idea. I have no hope of coordinating anything to the extent that Mark does. McDonald's anyone?

The formula should be easy:

1 game vs Patriot League team
1 game vs MAC team preferably from Ohio
1 game vs a mid to lower level AAC team preferably on the East Coast
1 game vs P5 preferably a like school, a name program, or cool road trip (meaning not Arkansas).

Most schools have there schedules done 12 years in advanced, yet we have issue getting things done 12 months ahead of time.

This...would also add, Army/Navy anytime you can. Strive for 7 home games 80-90% of the seasons.

I think a 2-for-1 with U Buffalo would serve Wildhack well, as a Buffalo native.

Rutgers just beat them recently I thought...

Twice, actually. First they were one of the benefactors of the Bobby Petrino motorcycle accident. The next year they beat Bielema's paper tiger 3-0 razorback team that then proceeded to finish 3-9.

I don't think we'd have that kind of luck.

Hey I know a great BBQ place in Olathe to pregame at...you ever been there? ;)
Oklahoma Joe's now Joe's KC? If it came to fruition you would have a place to stay and a ride to Larry. I'm right down the street from the Leawood/OP Joe's location. I owe you some hospitality after that great Tex Mex in San Antonio.

Prob 2 of the 5 best wins in program history

Yes...Sir. Next time I'm in KC...we'll have to get together with MSOrange

All I needed to know about Herm was that he wasn't sure if the Wagner game counted for bowl eligibility.

Fire Herm

If the ACC ever adopted the 3/5/5 scheduling model, I think this could be an ideal schedule. It would provide a great interest for fans with regional games, good exposure in our recruiting territories, and a chance for 6-8+ wins per year.

Boston College
Pittsburgh
Louisville
Virginia/Virginia Tech
North Carolina/NC St
Duke/Wake Forest
Clemson/Georgia Tech
Florida St/Miami
Notre Dame/Navy
Army
MAC
P5

I have to think it's been because of concerns over the timing of Dome renovations. Otherwise, this screams incompetence.

Agree, can't figure out why we dont have a relationship with ualbany and/or UB. its mind-boggling. It would market to the albany are and the Buffalo area. We have tons of non p5 opportunities around us geographically but have never taken advantage. There are a million FCS teams within a 4 hr driving radius, add the MAC , patriot, and some colonial teams that play fb. Thats why i love the Middle Tennessee game. Winnable, but challenging. Look at out geography!!! How do teams like university of Washington, Minnesota, and Arizona make it look so easy in less populated locales???

i thought we also had storz in the Dome for 18.

throw in a 1aa and we need 1.

Arkansas is going to A & M that year, doubt theyd want to go on the road and obviously, with us at ND, that is not how we should do it either.

army only has 5 home games that year and has 2 open dates in Nov...maybe we fill 1 at Yankee Stadium??
