The guy tapped the ball while it was in the air, landed in the front court, then went to the back court to pick it up.

I would have thought the tap, then landing in the front court would establish front court position.

No one seemed too upset on the court, so it must be right.

Need two feet and possession in the front court. I believe he only had one foot down, much like Scoop.
