Nunzio Campanile to UConn

“‘Self righteous fury" is just code for "I don’t want to address anything you said." I laid out stats and context. You responded by praising another poster instead of engaging the argument. If pointing out Angeli’s actual performances bothers you that’s fine but don’t pretend it’s because I’m emotional. It’s because the facts don’t fit the narrative you’re trying to protect.
I wasn't going to do this publicly, but since privately didn't work, here we are.

Knock off the arrogance, snark, and attitude.

LOL. Calling it an aggressive tone is just a polite way of saying you don’t like when someone challenges the room. I’m here to talk Syracuse football with substance. You admit you usually just follow debates instead of contributing which is fine, but don’t confuse participation with hostility. I’m bringing facts, context and actual discussion. I’m not here to fight. I’m here to talk ball. If that reads as confrontational then maybe the board could use a little more confrontation and a little less tiptoeing.
And yet, most of your posts indicate that you do, in fact, want to fight.

Multiple programs backchanneling? Sounds like you can’t name a single school, you just wave your hands and say "trust me they’re out there." If there were real programs with real interest you’d list them. You didn’t because you can’t. Your entire rebuttal is "well actually, these mystery schools totally want him, I swear." If your argument is so strong, name the programs. Otherwise don’t tell me to get my eyes checked when you’re the one seeing imaginary offers.
You're clueless. JeremyCuse is one of the more in-the-know people on the board. I suggest the newbie take a step back and figure out who he's conversing with before spouting off so much.

No, actually self-righteous fury was code for "the creation date of your handle suggests you don't know who people are on the board, or how to engage other posters in a way that your approach means people won't find you credible."

For example, my relationship with Steve Angeli could best be described as "super natural." I simply won't debate his greatness. You don't have the context for why I have that position, and I'm not debating it or defending it because it's been literal years in development. You can confirm with bnoro if you'd like.

Yeah, see, it sounds like your attempts to frame what people actually mean isn't intended to talk ball.

That's what people say when they don’t have an actual counterargument. I laid out stats, context and on‑field results. You came back with a one liner. This isn’t an echo chamber where everyone nods their head in agreement. If pointing out a 45.4 QBR, garbage‑time padding, and cupcake defenses is too much for you that’s fine but don’t pretend it’s because I’m wrong. It’s because I’m not playing along with the fantasy version of Angeli you want to believe in.
1.) You’re cherrypicking a QB rating for one game (and the first game of the season at that) to prove a point. Talk about lacking context. Angeli’s QB rating for the season through the Clemson game (79) would have placed him at the top of the conference alongside Carson Beck and CJ Bailey. Plus he was just starting to get going and seemed to be more comfortable running the offense when he injured his Achilles.

2.) Every program plays cupcakes early on in the season and gets to pad their stats. Complaining about 4th quarter stat padding vs Colgate is more cherry-picking.

3.) UConn isn’t really even a cupcake. They had a decent season, made a bowl game, and their coach got poached by another program.

4.) Angeli improved every week, proved that he could run Nixon’s pass heavy offense, and showed himself capable of being a solid successor to McCord.

5.) I’ll acknowledge that Angeli is probably not as good as McCord and that his Achilles injury (especially the potential year long recovery) would give potential suitors pause about poaching him with a high dollar figure NIL.

Around here, we do NOT divulge sources or provide information we are told not to divulge.

Just because you are indignant because we don't doesn't mean it will start to happen.

As a newbie, I will reiterate one of the sacred rules of the board:

We do not ask, "Who's your source?"

Corollary to this rule: we do not pass along information we are told not to pass along.
The OP's join date suggests he is a newbie, but I get the sense he has posted here before under a different account/user name.

There's a reason myself and other people "in the know" don't share certain things. Number one, we don't want it on a public forum. Number 2 why would we want Syracuse.com to take a story and run with it.

Do any of these options help syracuse football? No.

Or you can try door number 3 and we don't want to deal with people on these forums saying we don't know what we're talking about.

99% of the time, it's door number 3. No one owes you any kind of confirmation. You can look at JeremyCuse and his reputation on this board and know he is talking facts.

Very solid response. I do think it's legit to question what Steve would have been because he really played three good quarters. That said I also think ignoring his obvious improvement from Tenn to Clemson isn't fair or accurate. As for the achilles, time will tell. Back playing doesn't mean playing up to normal level. Fingers crossed he can go because I have no faith in Fran or the OC having a back up ready.

I am bummed. I liked coach Camp, who had more hand in the altered offense when we lost our QB in 2023 than Beck (as did coach Johnson). As TE coach, he mentored Villari and Gadsden. Both brought the talent, but he helped them maximize it. As QB coach, he had McCord. Again, not his talent, but he helped maximize it. The biggest future threat here is his direct lineage to all the North Jersey talent (father and two brothers at two premier talent factories).

Not sure its a coincidence this posters start date coincides with the end of another poster who used suspiciously similar language.
I didn't catch that, and I can't say I'm familiar enough with every one on here who left/got kicked off. You're on top of everything, aren't you?
