NY Jets 2018 Thread

You need to hire an offensive guy to work with your young qb bowles is a disaster.
Jeremy Bates is horrendous. There’s no flow to the play calling and it’s a disaster. There’s obviously not enough talent on offense either but the scheme is just terrible.

Hey man, in WoodyWorld, he's Don Coryell ;)

0 - 17 against buffalo.

We can't run, we can't pass, we can't defend and we appear to be quitting. What a train wreck !!!

McCown is totally done - give Webb a shot.

I often read on the board that McCown is better than Eli.

Eli sucks now just accept it. McCown is a bum who has hung around.
Anyone who compares his resume to Manning is dumb. He may have played better than a few weeks the last years but Eli is 5-19 in his last 25 starts.
The guy is 3 games over .500 for his career maybe he should just hope his team gets 2 more wins this year so he can finish his career with the NYG above .500.

The absolute 1st play from scrimmage told you all you to know about Eli...

Hits a wide open OBJ for 15 yards and...he drops it.

Goes right through his hands.

He’s a ‘spectacular’ WR, not a good consistent one.

i got to see the jets against houston. first jets game i have seen in awhile.

gotta say, sam looked terrific. first time i have seen him play that i have been totally impressed. he showed arms, legs, and judgment. still needs another big time receiver ala hopkins. blown extra points affected the tone of the game.

jets always find unique ways to lose.

pass rush was impressive, but could not get it done on houstons last drive.

too bad that 4th down pass to anderson just missed.

From TGG board :)

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the Hofstra

Not a player was stirring, not even a Mark Cavka;

The helmets were hung by the lockers with care,

In hopes that Herm Edwards soon would be there;

The O-Linemen were nestled all snug in their hospital beds,

While visions of Reggie Bush danced in their heads;

And Woody in his nightgown, and I in my cap,

Had just settled down for an offseason nap,

When out on the practice field there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the trainer?s table to see what was the matter.

Away to the practice bubble I flew like a flash,

Tore open my stitches and threw up my breakfast hash.

The tackle dummy on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to fumbled footballs below,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature cornerback, and eight Green reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively, but not stern,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Herm.

More rapid than eagles his analogies they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and said you play to win the game!;

"Now, Martin! now, Vilma! now, Vinny and Hobson!

On, Mawae! on Coleman! on, Coles and Robertson!

To the top of the upright! to the top of the porto-potty stall!

Now throw away! throw away! throw away all!"

As dry as an offense in which no passes fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, they yield and comply,

So down to the bottom of the standings they flew,

With the sleigh full of disappointments, and St Herman too.

And then, in a fumbling, I heard on the TV

The bitching and moaning of each little Jetsie.

As I drew in my torn shoulder, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St. Herman came with a bound.

He was dressed all in green, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with chicken soot;

A bundle of plays he had flung on his back,

But I knew they were all likely to end in a sack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

Then I had a sinking feeling next season he might bury!

His droll little mouth was drawn up as if to say,

I just got a letter from the commissioner today;

The stump of a wristwatch he held tight in his teeth,

And it reminded me Dick Curl was as useful as a wreath;

He had a broad face and a kinda fat head,

That shook, when he wanted to pass, but ran a draw instead.

He was jumpy and preachy, a right jolly old coach,

And I cried when I saw him, my franchise he did poach;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had a lot to dread;

He spoke lots of words, and forgot about his work,

He told stories about dog catchers and I thought?what a jerk,

And laying his finger inside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the flagpole he rose;

He grabbed Terry B and to his team gave a cheer,

And he stared dumbfound like headlights on a deer.

But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,

"Merry Christmas to all, and to the Jets season good-night."

These look like what the Jets will wear next year.
Moving away from the white helmet.

That's the uni the Jets wore when I saw them in Seattle in '86. I'm okay with them, they just seemed to represent the overall futility of the NYJ organization and it was a welcome switch when they went back to their older style. Which also represents the modus operandi of the Jets front office: motion dressed up as action.

Resurrected from page 6, LOL!

So here it is: Le'Veon Bell gets sent home with the flu so he doesn't infect the rest of the team. Okay. Then, he's spotted Saturday night wearing orange leather pants in a bowling alley until the early AM. Drinking beers, maybe? Say what?
I get sending him home for the benefit of the team. But he's a grown adult and knows what he's doing. He's trolling Gase and Douglas, telling them to move him. Gase never wanted him, and has declined to put in an offense that has RB1 getting 25 carries. Let's face it, it's a passing league and Darnold is their future.

I get the feeling they signed Bell to sell tickets, and they're going to deal him because Darnold's development has been adequate to allow them to move Bell. But just think of the money they spent on him that they could have put into the O-line they desperately need. Woodyworld continues to be the flagship disaster of the NFL.

Don't worry Buffalo, you're safe from this quarter.
