Throughout this run, I've felt oddly serene and confident about this team's chances. Maybe it's the way they get at it defensively, or perhaps it's the way any number of players have risen to the occasion at various points in the season, but all I know is I haven't felt this way since 2003.

For me, the first Louisville game was the moment I glimpsed potential greatness in this team, with Triche going off in the first half, Grant playing effective big minutes in a hostile environment, and MCW overcoming a rough start and asserting himself in crunch time. Certainly, there were bumps in the road after that, but the potential remained. Somehow this group rallied together, and look at where they stand today.

However this plays out, this has been a magical season, and all involved are to be commended. As fans, I hope we all appreciate what we're witnessing, and recognize that seasons like this are rare. Wherever you are at game time on Saturday, soak it in and cherish the moment. LGO.

Have to agree. Congrats on making a post that's not defending Triche in some way, shape, or form. I didn't think you were capable. You're on the money here .

I know exactly what you mean, no feelings of dread watching this team lately... For me it started with the BET, just unabashed anticipation to see them play...

If you were trying to extend your streak of consecutive bad posts, I think you succeeded.

Calling it like I see it. You're like the Mosquito that comes flying by your ear when you're trying to sleep. And dont send me another inbox telling me how you enjoy my posts and apologizing for bumping heads in the past.

Me, too. Very well put. This team has been like a terrific surprise. I haven't sweat about any of the games, and feel the same way about Michigan. Very comfortable with our defense, hoping our offense can just hit a few jumpers in the first half to give us a cushion to work with again.

Boeheim 9-0 vs Beilein, Boeheim 3-0 in Final four games, players stepping up and hitting their stride, playing with confidence, and playing to each others strengths. There is sufficent reason for optimism Saturday night.

I'm finding myself eerily confident as well but still that lingering doubt until we make a few shots early and they miss a few.

Playing with a lead definitely helps. ;)

Winning two games was probably the benchmark for this squad and they've greatly surpassed it; there's really no pressure as fans to fret anymore. With the way things are going (the past 5 five years or so), Syracuse will probably win at least one championship by 2020 so there will always be more opportunities. I don't think the "once per decade" trend will continue.

As much as most of us regularly have great expectations for this team (and rightly so), the fact remains that simply getting to a Final Four, let alone winning a championship, is not an easy thing. JB certainly understands this, as evidenced by his comments about the current run.

Winning two games was probably the benchmark BEFORE the B.E Tourney. Now we're playing the best basketball we've played all year, we are firing on all cylinders at the right time and we still have turbo as an option.

People may disagree, but if you take out the last 5 games of the regular season we have shown pretty much all year that this team was a top 5 team. They hit a slump. It happens. While it has been a success getting to the Final Four, this team can do more and I am not sitting here satisfied. They have shown it before this year. We beat Louisville without James, and really had a chance to win the other two games. Why would you not be confident about our chances this weekend? This team is better than the 1996 team. It might not be better than the 87 team, but neither is the rest of College Basketball.
