Any ideas as to why we struggled so much in this area?

Not enough defenders who could keep their assignments in front of them. Some teams were very successful in creating mismatches after which all hell generally broke loose.

we also had a quasi/veteran goalie who though played very well i thought had split time probably 70/30 and was maybe lacking some real game experience at calling out coverages. just a theory. communication is key.
