Uh, no. We already suck at defense this year. We'd just suck playing it differently. The notion that we'd be worse is just that - a notion - without any real commitment to finding out.

You are missing the bigger picture... when you have fewer, slower, less athletic players, zone is great for allowing players to conserve energy and for staying out of foul trouble. Now imagine our team which is maybe 5.5 players deep at point and slower and less athletic trying to play man to man. We would have more tired players and more foul trouble which would lead to poorer offense and less wins.
