Offering freshman a scholarship

Bud needs to realize its very much different being a teenager in 2015 vs the 1920s when he was of a similar age.

He's also completely clueless considering our last commit was receiving SEC offers in 8th grade and by the time we offered him in 10th grade we were the 5th p5 team to do so. Good thing we offered when we did too otherwise we would've just been another one of the other 39 schools that offered him after the fact.

I agree. However, I don't have a problem if Bud thinks it is silly to offer freshman. I would disagree but not have an issue. My issue with him is the negative "creepy" slant he took. The guy slipped in all sorts of inferences, not about the actual recruitment part, but about a man v. boy "romance".

He starts with this: "There was a time in the football recruiting game when the scouts trolled for fellas about to enter manhood rather than boys hoping to sprout a few hairs on their chins."

Trolling for "fellas"? Really?

"Grade-schoolers are on watch lists and are romanced."

"Junior high school students have become so much meat and considered prime."

"Alabama, LSU, Texas and Southern California, whose recruiters may wear trench coats and hang around playgrounds"

'And he's been tapped on the shoulder, figuratively if nothing else, by at least one grown man rom SU."
