I do not say this lightly.. I think the refs KNEW what the spread was for this game... way too many calls that were not made or made in poor judgement to think anything else

Run defense needs some work

IMHO Scheme along with who plays more often needs to be addressed.

They definitely need to find a real defensive coordinator. This is going to be a long season. Not that we aren’t used to those.

There’s just about zero good to take away from the defensive side this game… positive: it’s the first game…. Negative: The opponent is Ohio who lost their entire team to the portal.

McCord when his feet are set is money. He definitely is ambitious on some of his decisions but you can’t really blame him with his arm talent. Need to continue to find ways to get Allen the ball.

The line moved down to 16.

So much good and so much bad. But, for the good, the team was very organized. I remember Marrone‘s first game and Shafer’s first game. There were so many organizational issues.

The defense has to get better. I’m not quite sure what the plan was other than maybe out talent them?. When we were aggressive we seemed to do very well earlier in the second half when we were building that lead.
