6 games with the opponent scoring 30+? Our D is better than that. If not, I'll start questioning Shafer.

Nah last year I don't think anyone had us with a losing record. This year I will be surprised if we win vs USC (duh), Louisville (bad matchup, 2nd best team we face), and Mizzou (late year roadie). I will be surprised if we lose to Stony Brook, UConn, or Temple. All three teams stink. Although Temple being the last game could depend on moral. The other 6 games are kinda toss ups IMO. Since only two of those are home games, then we are more likley to go 2-4 than .500 in those games. That gets us to 5-7. NW is absolutely a swing game. I am not sure our O will be ready though. I see a similar game as Wake from last year except we don't pull it off at the end. Minny I think we absolutely beat at home or neutral but I am not sure if I trust us to win a roadie. Pitt IMO is another swing game. Two weeks to prepare and a Friday night make me think we beat them. Rutgers I think we have a coaching advantage and the talent will be the closest in years. USF is always hard to gauge. It all depends on BJ and how he plays. Being a roadie though I need to take USF. Cincy is another game that could go either way but again on the road.

I could see this team going 5-2 and winning a share of the BE or going 2-5 and winning a share of the bottom. Lots of swing games but again when more of those are on the road it is hard to be .500 or better in those swing games. If it were the other way around 4 swing at home then I would pick SU to go 7-5 instead. I think we will be a 5 to 7 W team this year. More than 7 would be a huge surprise. Less than 5 would be a huge disappointment.

Although not what I would be hoping for, it's not bad considering strength of sched. plus Missouri on the road is going to be tough - esp if we are dinged up. Usual 2nd half swoon but team rallys to become bowl eligible in Phila. I fall into the "doubting Thomas" category of SU fan. My heart says 8-4 but that's not happening this year unless the OL has some magical transformation.

Syracuse vs. Northwestern (W) 49-17. New look dome. New era. Senior QB, veteran receivers, and a defense with a year under its belt comes out flying!!! An opening kickoff return for a touchdown sets up the scoring and the dome erupts!! NW makes a good opening drive down the field only to lose it all to an amazing INT in the endzone. The next play from the 20 its a deep bomb Nassib to Sales for an 80 yd touchdown and the crowd is deafening!!! Our DB's shut down NW's passing oriented offense with a couple more turnovers. Jerome Smith busts through the middle and blows open a 50 yd TD run! By the start of the 3rd Qtr the game is over and SU cruises in its opener in thrilling fashion.

Syracuse vs. So. Cal. (W) 38-28 The Orangemen keep on the throttle from Game 1 and explode out of the gate again. USC, overlooking 'Cuse and jet lagged is quite sluggish. Barkley throws 2 surprising 1st half INT's and the Trojans get burned by an early flea flicker to Lemon and a deep bomb to Sales to close the 2nd qtr! Although the stadium is not full, the overwhelming 'Cuse majority crowd is going crazy as Syracuse stuns USC with a 28-7 first half lead. All the cowards and "Basketball Only Fans" who didn't make the game are calling and texting their buddies who are at the game going nuts. Nobody can believe what had just transpired before their eyes. In the 2nd half USC makes their run cutting the lead to 7 (28-21) by the start of the 4th. Then, just as the Trojans are driving down into the red zone to tie it up and we are all on the edge, doubt setting in... BOOM!!! Dyshawn Davis gets into the backfield and crushes the Trojan RB forcing the ball way up into the air and Shamarko leaps into the air, grabs the ball, and runs it all the way back to seal the deal. Everyone goes nuts and all the talk is 'Cuse football and their stunning upset victory!!!

Syracuse vs. Stony Brook (W) 35-17 Syracuse has a little bit of a let down in this game coming off the incredible high of the USC victory. Syracuse has 3 turnovers and the game is close for a while in the 1st half and the fans thoughts turn to the worst possible outcome. But the Seawolves have no answer for the running attack of Smith, Gulley, and Broyld. The O-line has a solid game in this regard controlling the time of possession and ultimately wearing out the Stony Brook Defense.

Syracuse @ Minnesota (W) 17-7 Tough battle for the 'Cuse in their first true road game in down pouring rain. The game is a defensive battle with turnovers abound. For most of the game it seems like whoever scores first is going to win but late in the 3rd Qtr Syracuse puts together an excellent and swift drive to take their first lead of the game 10-7. After stopping the Golphers in their next two subsequent possessions 3 and out Syracuse puts together another great drive stuffing the ball down Minnesota's throat with AAM leaping over the pile to secure the 10 point victory. The Thoroughly soaked Golden Gopher faithful clear the stadium after this final touchdown and the last 5 1/2 minutes are played in front of near empty stands.

Syracuse vs. Pitt (W) 42-24 Finally, just as the basketball team beat Pittsburgh this year so too does the football team. This is a very enjoyable game to watch as both teams put together some impressive scoring drives in front of a packed Loud house with lots of excitement in the air for the undefeated 'Cuse. Pitt takes the lead early in the 3rd but a 50 yd kickoff return puts SU right back in business. Syracuse stalls at the goal line and Marrone surprisingly elects to go for it on 4th down instead of kicking a field goal to tie. Once again AAM leaps over the pile and Syracuse takes the lead for good with a dominating 4th qtr. The Orange faithful go to sleep that night really starting to believe they are witnessing something REAL SPECIAL.

Syracuse @ Rutgers (W) 44-0 Rutgers is having an abysmal season without Greg Schiano and Syracuse brings a huge contingent of fans to Piscataway. The Orangemen have an ALL -BUSINESS persona to this game refusing to allow the disgrace of last year to occur again with a well balanced attack and a bend but not break defense. The Scarlet Knights cannot get out of their own way. Even turning the ball over on one occasion when their RB bumps into his own blocker dropping the ball right into the hands of the SU tackler, halting their only hopeful scoring drive in the game. By the 4th Qtr all who remain in the stands are cheering Syracuse fans. Did I hear an ACC chant coming from somewhere?

Syracuse vs. Connecticut (W) 31-16 First complete sellout for football since God knows when. The dome is as loud as ever but the hype of being unbeaten and the talk of the sellout has the team coming out lacksidaisical and UCONN establishes a nice inside outside running game to take a quick to take a 13-0 lead after a botched snap on the 2nd TD extra point try. This seems to be the fire the teams needed as they respond with some solid defensive stops and two scoring drives to take the lead 14-13 at half. In the 2nd half the defense is stout playing inspired ball with the loud crowd behind them and the offense does what it needs to do with a balanced pass and run attack out of the no huddle to bury the Huskies.

Syracuse @ South Florida (W) 10-7 This game is like déjà vu from 2 years ago in a defensive struggle. USF is having an up an down season and the SU football bandwagon, now fully loaded brings a huge snowbird Orange clad crowd! BJ Daniels is having flashbacks from 2010 and reverts to his terrible form fumbling the ball twice and throwing 3 picks but the USF D-Line pushes the ‘Cuse O-line and gets too much penetration stalling the offense. It takes a half back option pass to Lemon to get the Orangemen’s only TD of the game in the opening drive of the 3rd QTR. Despite a late USF TD Syracuse runs out the glock with the ball to survive and keep the Undefeated season intact. LGO chants serenade Tampa and the ‘Cuse rolls on!

Syracuse @ Cincinnati (W) 27-14 Cinci’s 2nd yr QB doesn’t seem to have improved much from last year throwing way to many INT’s. SU’s Defense steps it up keeping the bearcats to only one scoring drive per half. Ball control is the name of th egame for SU in this one as Jerome Smith and PTG each surpass a hundred yards against the injury laden Cinci D. Not to flashy but the ‘Cuse gets it done!

Syracuse vs. Louisville (W) 28-7 This game was speculated to be a battle with many experts picking the ‘Ville to come into the Dome and knock off the undefeated Orangemen on an extremely jovial senior day honoring the players who helped bring SU back to football prominence. The Cards came in inspired scoring their only points on their opening drive. But SU responded on the subsequent drive to tie it up and run away with it. Lemon finally has a huge game where Syracuse prevails including a 35 yd TD reception leaping above the reach of the defender who falls down capping off the final TD and saluting a jubilant crowd. Marrone gets the Gatorade poured on not once, but twice as the triumphant Orangemen leave the stands.

Syracuse @ Missouri (W) 31-28 Most experts picked the ‘Cuse to fall on the road displaying the ever present media doubtof the ‘Cuse and this drama filled back an forth game almost ended the undefeated run as Missou had th eball with under a minute to go in the red zone. The ‘Cuse faithful were startign to feel as if their dream was coming to an end only to see the impossible; A botched snap on 3rd and goal with 44 seconds left gets swiped up by DD and with the aid of a block from Shamarko takes it all the way back to the MU 17 yd line to stun the Tiger crowd. Krautman nails a 29 yarder as time expires and the Syracuse players storm the field!

Syracuse @ Temple (W) 24-3 There would be no final game letdown for the ‘Cuse as the orange faithful pack Lincoln Field to witness something that has not happened for the Syracuse Football program in a Quarter Century, UNDEFEATED, UNBLEMISHED. The ORANGEMEN have WON! 12-0 and we were all apart of it! The Syracusefan.com board crashes being overloaded by the fans posting their expressions of pure bliss and the media is non-stop discussing the Glorious ‘Cuse and their upcoming BCS and potential national title game matchup! THE ‘CUSE IS IN THE HOUSE OH MY GOD!

BCS/NC Game ? I cannot predict the outcome of this game as we don’t know if Syracuse will be playing in the National Title game or the Orange Bowl against the Hokies. SU’s undefeated run brings up huge controversy as many people do not wish to put a Big East, well soon to be ACC, team in the NC game. We can only wait and see what happens. Either way the 2012 edition of Syracuse Football will have been one unforgettable season.

Just going to warn you guys I am extremely optimistic, especially when it comes to this year's team. You've been warned. Here goes...

Syracuse vs. Northwestern (W) 31-20 The orange give the raucous dome crowd plenty of reason to cheer as they dominate Northwestern in the opener. The defense locks the wildcats down for most of the game before they score a touchdown in garbage time to make the score respectable. 1-0

Syracuse vs. USC (L) 34-24 Despite going toe to toe with the #1 team in the country for three quarters, the defense is unable to stop the trojans' potent offense late in the game. Syracuse loses a tough one. 1-1

Syracuse vs. Stony Brook (W) 42-10 Syracuse is clicking on all cylinders as they take Stony Brook to the woodshed. The big plays we have been waiting for finally arrive in what will be remembered as Ashton Broyld's coming out party. 2-1

Syracuse @ Minnesota (W) 20-10 The orange offense is sloppy in this one but it doesn't matter as the beefed up defense stifles the gopher's attack. The hot start continues for Syracuse. 3-1

Syracuse v. Pitt (W) 28-17 Syracuse avenges years of beatings at the hand of Pitt as they win their third in a row. The girth and speed of the defense are too much for Pitt. 4-1

Syracuse @ Rutgers (W) 31-3 This rivalry is intensified by the bitterness Rutgers has after being snubbed by the ACC. That makes it all the more satisfying as Syracuse lays a beat down on the Scarlet Knights. The orange, clicking on all cylinders now sit one win away from bowl eligibility. 5-1

Syracuse vs. UConn (W) 24-10 The orange spoil pasqualoni's return to the dome as the defense continues to dominate. Syracuse is going bowling again. 6-1

Syracuse @ USF (L) 21-10 The winning streak comes to an end as a tough USF team is too much for the orange to handle. The orange fall but remain in the thick of the big east race. 6-2

Syracuse @ Cincinnati (W) 27-24 In what will prove to be one of the best games of the season, Syracuse proves they are not going to fade out of the race in the Big East. A last second field goal sends the orange to a 4-1 record in the Big East. 7-2

Syracuse vs Louisville (L) 21-17 The struggles against Louisville continue as the orange just can't score enough points to take the cards down. This loss to the conference front runner all but ends the orange's hopes of a conference title. 7-3

Syracuse @ Mizzou (W) 31-29 In what is the biggest upset of Syracuse's season, they take down the tigers in their own house. I know I said I am optimistic but mark my words. Syracuse will win this game. 8-3

Syracuse @ Temple (W) 27-10 Syracuse finishes the campaign strong with a win over an inferior Temple squad. Syracuse is the surprise team in the country and heads back to a bowl game with a stellar record. 9-3

This might be a little generous but no matter how many of these I am off on, I am guaranteeing the Mizzou game. Lock it up.
