Just going to warn you guys I am extremely optimistic, especially when it comes to this year's team. You've been warned. Here goes...

Syracuse vs. Northwestern (W) 31-20 The orange give the raucous dome crowd plenty of reason to cheer as they dominate Northwestern in the opener. The defense locks the wildcats down for most of the game before they score a touchdown in garbage time to make the score respectable. 1-0

Syracuse vs. USC (L) 34-24 Despite going toe to toe with the #1 team in the country for three quarters, the defense is unable to stop the trojans' potent offense late in the game. Syracuse loses a tough one. 1-1

Syracuse vs. Stony Brook (W) 42-10 Syracuse is clicking on all cylinders as they take Stony Brook to the woodshed. The big plays we have been waiting for finally arrive in what will be remembered as Ashton Broyld's coming out party. 2-1

Syracuse @ Minnesota (W) 20-10 The orange offense is sloppy in this one but it doesn't matter as the beefed up defense stifles the gopher's attack. The hot start continues for Syracuse. 3-1

Syracuse v. Pitt (W) 28-17 Syracuse avenges years of beatings at the hand of Pitt as they win their third in a row. The girth and speed of the defense are too much for Pitt. 4-1

Syracuse @ Rutgers (W) 31-3 This rivalry is intensified by the bitterness Rutgers has after being snubbed by the ACC. That makes it all the more satisfying as Syracuse lays a beat down on the Scarlet Knights. The orange, clicking on all cylinders now sit one win away from bowl eligibility. 5-1

Syracuse vs. UConn (W) 24-10 The orange spoil pasqualoni's return to the dome as the defense continues to dominate. Syracuse is going bowling again. 6-1

Syracuse @ USF (L) 21-10 The winning streak comes to an end as a tough USF team is too much for the orange to handle. The orange fall but remain in the thick of the big east race. 6-2

Syracuse @ Cincinnati (W) 27-24 In what will prove to be one of the best games of the season, Syracuse proves they are not going to fade out of the race in the Big East. A last second field goal sends the orange to a 4-1 record in the Big East. 7-2

Syracuse vs Louisville (L) 21-17 The struggles against Louisville continue as the orange just can't score enough points to take the cards down. This loss to the conference front runner all but ends the orange's hopes of a conference title. 7-3

Syracuse @ Mizzou (W) 31-29 In what is the biggest upset of Syracuse's season, they take down the tigers in their own house. I know I said I am optimistic but mark my words. Syracuse will win this game. 8-3

Syracuse @ Temple (W) 27-10 Syracuse finishes the campaign strong with a win over an inferior Temple squad. Syracuse is the surprise team in the country and heads back to a bowl game with a stellar record. 9-3

This might be a little generous but no matter how many of these I am off on, I am guaranteeing the Mizzou game. Lock it up.
This make me very optimistic seeing as we have the exact same predictions

9-3 and 11-1 or 10-2 against the spread... You need to get to Vegas!

SU 28 NW 17

USC 42 SU 27 - Very close at half and they run away with this in the 2nd half.

SU 45 Stoneybrook 6

SU 24 Minn 10

Pitt 24 SU 27

SU 31 RU 21

SU 27 UConn 24

USF 35 SU 17

Cincy 21 SU 24

Lvill 35 SU 20

SU 14 Missou 24

SU 31 Temple 17

Overall 8-4 (BE 5-2)

I don't have much confidence in the offense, but really like our defense this year.
SU 27 Northwestern 24
USC 38 SU 17
SU 31 Stony Brook 20
SU 27 Minnesota 20
Pitt 28 SU 17
SU 20 RU 17
SU 24 UConn 21 in P's only return to the Dome
USF 28 SU 17
Cincy 31 SU 14
Louisville 38 SU 24
Mizzou 38 SU 17
SU 24 Temple 20

Record 6-6 and we get the Beef Bowl.

I am torn on how this season will turn out. I can honestly see us going anywhere for 0-12 to 12-0. "no matter how unlikely it is, it is definitely possible." so, I'm going to go optimistic with my official prediction and go with 11-1

SU 31 nw 16. Nassib comes out firing early and we actually build a nice 21-3 halftime lead.

SU 28 usc 24. We win this one on a late touchdown drive by Ryan Nassib. I can't help but call for this, I will be crying tears of joy if we pull it off.

SU 45 sb 10. This game does scare the crap outta me because of their rbs, but I'm gonna call for a can a whoop ass to be opened in this game. After a USC win, the loud house should actually be rockin for this one.

SU 31 minn 20. We play a well rounded game in this one. Everyone plays well and were just the better team.

SU 23 pitt 20. We show our first bit of inconsistency this season and go into the 4th quarter down 20-9. After an ugly 1st 3 quarters Broyld turns a screen pass into an 80 yd TD catch. And Nassib drives us down the field yet again in the final possession and starts to garner some heisman mentions.

SU 35 buttgers 16 . Defense shines in this one, as Wayne Morgan has two TDs. One pick6, and a fumble recovery runback caused by shamwow. Brandon reddish also has a pick6 late to put the icing on the cake.

SU 28 uconn 6. Since coach P and deleone never change, they take the same approach as they used in the 2nd half last year.(and the same approach they used for years here) they just run the ball up the middle 3 times and punt all game. This time it doesn't work on our new dline

SU 27 usf 26. Nassibs magic strikes again! The offense stalls through the 1st three quarters and the orange are down 26-6 going into the 4th. Early in the 4th Nassib finds sales on a go route for an 85 yard TD. With 2 minutes to go and SU still down by 6, shamwow lays a hit on some unfortunate soul and jars the ball right into the hands of Diabate. Nassib drives down the field and runs one in himself with 7 seconds left for the win.

SU 17 cincy 6. Defense wins this one as well, as the orange offense struggles to move the ball. Every time the cincy offense starts to move the ball, our defense comes up with a TO.

SU 42 lville 10. The dome is sold out for the 1st time in years. The loud house is shaking and we come out and dominate. I'm just gonna call it very similar to the wv game last year. We clinch the big east title in this one.

mizz 27 SU 12. This is too good to be true, no way we actually go undefeated. After going through the dogfight that is the sec, mizzou isn't impressed at all with Syracuse. We come out flat, and the offense shows an inability to get into the end zone and our national title chances are gone.

SU 49 temple 14. We come out on fire and thrash temple from kickoff. Nassib becomes SUs all time leader for TD passes in a career with 5 more in this game.

As big east champs we end up playing future conference opponent fla st in the orange bowl

SU 35 fla st 34

This one goes back and forth all game long. We get the ball last and Nassib drives down the field and runs one in for the winning score. here we come ACC.

W - SU 30 NW 3 - Defense has a field day first day out - and scores 14 of the 30 points

W -SU - 28 USC 24 - Nassib has one of the best games of his career - we win the ball control game and the defense does just enough.. launching pad for the future

W - SU 34 - SB 21 - Reality sets back in - off a big high team is forced to over come a tie game mid way through the 3rd.

L - SU 20 Minn 31 - Tough loss to an improved Gopher squad - morale still high but weaknesses exposed.

W SU 41 - Pitt 34 - Offense explodes and we are riding high again - USC trips up again and we are still borderline top 25

W SU 20 RU 17 - Another ugly SU-RU game but a victory - Running game and defense takes it home

W SU 38 UConn 13 - Crush the husky pups at 6-1 and rolling we are in the conversation as a surprise BCS team

L SU 31 - USF 34 - Can't shut down the bulls and BJ long enough - a bit of a momentum killer

W -SU 30 Cin 27 - Tough game - we pull it out - team is still playing together and at a high level

W - SU 35 L'ville 21 - Offense thrives and defensive speed makes life tough for Ted - he is forced to sing the thunder song all night.

L - SU 21- Mizzou 42 - The tigers need a big win after a difficult conference slate - they come up big pushing us back in the polls

W - SU 18 Temple 17 - Temple puts up a massive fight to keep us from the BEC but we come away with a last second Krautman FG - his sixth of the game.
Final Record - 9 -3 ( 6-1) BEC and BCS Bowl

Absolutely Drinking the cool-aid and here is why - I was in Philly yesterday for a conference and outside the conference I met a gentleman ( did not get his name) with an old school syracuse sweater. He sees that I have cuse cufflings ( thanks to wifey) and stops me to chat. Asks if I am ready for football season and before I answer mentions how he was an offensive lineman in 1955. I ask him what he thinks of this years team and he said he thinks they only lose a few.. hence my aspiration for 9-3 ( I was thinking 6-6 before). Right as I am about to get into further conversation I get yanked by my boss to move along so we can get a seat.. just a neat moment and I almost enjoy he is still anonymous.

Time to get on the record...7-5 (4-3)

Orange 31 - Purple 28 - Litchenstein last second FG
SU 17 - U$C 34 - Massacre @ the Meadowlands
SU 33 - SUNY SB 20 - Too close for comfort for 3 quarters
NY's College Team 24 - MN's College Team 23 - I have no idea
'Cuse 24 - sPitt 21 - Streak has to end sometime, right??
SU 20 - SUNJ Piscataway 16 - Suck it!
SU 24 - Cow College 27 - P's revenge
SU 23 - SFU Tampa 30 - Even BJ Daniels doesn't screw this one up
Syracuse, NY 31 - Cincinatti, KY 30 - Don't ask me how
Syracuse 9 - Lewisville 10 - My eyes! They're bleeding!
ACC (soon to be) 26 - SEC (now) 35 - Ess Eee Cee speed hurts us
Orange 35 - Hooters 20 - Everything clicks

Schedule seems to ramp up a little in the second half, a lot of tough matchups and not many home games so I'm not even sure it's fair to call it a collapse if the record takes another late season dip. Somehow I managed to get this team to 7-5, hope Marrone can do it too!

Figure I've waited long enough.

Cuse- 36, NW- 33: Late field goal clinches it for the Orange again in a shoot out. Nassib tears up the 'cats, Colter runs everywhere. Fun game, Dome is rocking in the opener.

USC- 38, Cuse- 21: Similar to last year, we compete fairly well, but the Trojans are too much.

Cuse- 41, Stony Brook- 24: Their success on the ground is a bit disconcerting, but the Orange win going away.

Cuse- 28, Minnesota: 17: Tough, sloppy game. We win it in the fourth.

Pitt- 24, Cuse- 21: Can't get off the schneid. Have to get them in the ACC.

Cuse- 24, Rutgers- 14: Gary Nova quits football the following week.

Cuse- 31, UConn- 17: Finally.

USF- 24, Cuse- 21: BJ Daniels still sucks, but breaks a few nice runs, and SU can't get it going on offense.

Cincinnati- 28, Cuse- 27: Pretty much what I said for USF, but Cuse falls just short. Can't take advantage of three INTs off Munchie.

Louisville- 35, Cuse- 21: I think the Ville is for real this year. This is the first legit board meltdown of the year.

Missouri- 31, Cuse- 28: Mizzou is vulnerable, but 'Cuse can't quite pull it off. Also: "OH MY GOD WE'RE COLLAPSING AGAIN DAMN YOU MARRONE""

Cuse- 42, Temple- 28: It all comes together and the Orange win easily in Philly to clinch the second bowl in the Doug Marrone era.

So...6-6 (3-4), a nice trip to a lower-level bowl, and we're dancing into the ACC.
