OK guys, give us your thoughts on Syracuse's first season in the ACC

Not sure we will have a rival soon in the ACC. Pittsburgh? How many times have we played them and I still don't feel the hate. (Not talking bball but the refs should neuter Pitt bball) BC? Who knows. We both have to be relevant I suppose. As for NC State and Wake, not feeling it. Now maybe G Tech but we don't play them again until something like 2020? So much for that.

Oh don't get me wrong, love being in the ACC. But it will take baby steps to get a real rival in my opinion. Now lets just beat BC. I want to see Adazio go psycho on the side lines Saturday! LGO!

Glad to have you all onboard. You fit in great. Looks like you can develop a couple of good rivalries with NCSU and Wake Forest. I think your recruiting in the Southeast will pick up, and, you'll contend soon.

What say you, Orange fans?
the acc refs bite

GREAT WE GET $20 MILLION THIS YEAR!

I just read that Cuomo wants his piece of the pie so that's 10M now. Syracuse is now thinking of relocating to Florida so they won't have any state tax.

The divisions are ridiculous and will be even more so if Louisville is just plopped into whatever division SU is in and no other changes are made.

Yeah, I know I've wrote it many times but I'd love to get rid of the division thing as well.

We have had back to back one point games with Pitt. Both teams trying to secure a bowl game. That's a good start for a rivalry.

love being in the ACC, just didn't like the GA Tech, Clemson & FSU games...by the way there's a new in-house rivalaries with 2 of my sons, one is a GA Tech grad another one is a Clemson Alum.

I like everything except the schedule - we need to play teams home and home every 4 years against the coastal teams so our players (and fans who travel quite well) get at least 1 in 4 years a chance to play in all stadiums in the conference during their career at SU. ACC really needs to addressed the scheduling mess that exists in football.

We still have a game to go and I expect to do a lengthy post about the season as a whole but I will offer this: BC may turn out to be our most natural rival here, since they are in our division and a traditional northeastern rival from the days before the Big East. I suspect that's why it was set up as our last game. But I think we could get something brewing with Louisville as well, as a carry-over from basketball. If we can get back to where we were in football in the 90's, we will be similar to Louisville and Clemson, (but not on the level of Florida State). Clemson has it's own set of rivals but things are wide open with the Cardinals.

I hate large conferences, though. I look at the Coastal Division almost as a another conference. I guess there's no divisional set up in basketball. We will rival Duke and UNC for the conference title but they will continue to be each other's main rivals. Again, I feel Louisville will be our big rival. I suspect Pitt will struggle in the ACC where their rough stuff will not be permitted, especially under the new emphasis in officiating.

What i'd really love is north-south divisions. A northern division would look m ore like the old Big East than the Big East does. But the football people want a game in Florida each year.

From the other side of the "rivalry," yeah, the hate just isn't there. Hell, I am a lifelong Pitt fan, but I own a Syracuse hat, root for SU when they aren't playing Pitt, and was happy as hell that it was SU going to the ACC with Pitt. I want to beat you guys, but I don't hate you guys. SU is the only other school I really gave two sh!ts about in the Big East. I was glad you guys didn't have to stay in Hell with Cincy, USF, etc. You deserve better.

Wish we could play you all more often. Was able to travel to Pittsburgh for the first time for the PITT/Carolina game and had a great experience. PITT fans were very hospitable and made my first trip to Pittsburgh a pleasant one. It is unfortunate that the division set up prevents us from playing more often but I think the ACC has done well with our recent additions. The B1G can have the twerps and Rutgers and with it their dreams of the New York and DC markets-- ha ha!! Somebody gave some bad intel on that one. Everyone knows NY is Syracuse and ND when it comes to college and DC is Georgetown or UVA. But alas, GO HEELS!! Again welcome.

Take away FSU and Clemson and it's the old Big East. Glad we are here though there are some programs on the rise. Going to be interesting to see where the ACC stands in 5 years.

Overall, I like the ACC.
Refs suck but that is true in many conferences.
We have no rivalry but time may change that issue.
Hoops will be unreal.
Lacrosse will be unreal.
Baseball should be great, but we haven't lost since.the early 70's and I don't see anyone beating us.anytime soon. (I am hopeful we add.Baseball in the near future)

After being independent in football all those years, then getting in a half-baked conference for 20 years run by basketball schools, its great being in a real football conference.
