Former Alabama football offensive lineman, Miles McVay is in the transfer portal and currently visiting Illinois after two seasons with the Crimson Tide. McVay is a former four-star recruit out of East St. Louis, Illinois. The Illinois native was mostly a contributor on special teams in 2024 for the Crimson Tide.
One of the top offensive lineman prospects in the nation ... rated No. 138 on the ESPN300, checking in as the 16th-rated offensive tackle, No. 10 player in the Midwest Region and the No. 2 from the state of Illinois ... 247Composite listed him at No. 192 nationally, the No. 19 offensive tackle and No. 3 player in the state ... ranked No. 214 overall by the On3 Consensus while also being tabbed as the No. 14 interior offensive lineman and No. 3 recruit from Illinois ... 's No. 11 at the offensive tackle and the No. 2 player from Illinois, while 247sports lists him as No. 27 offensive tackle and No. 4 in the state ... a three-star prospect by On3 who rated him at No. 36 interior offensive lineman and No. 6 player from Illinois ... ranked as a four-star recruit by PrepStar Magazine, who listed him at No. 102 overall, No. 15 at his position and No. 2 out of Illinois ... selected to play at the Under Armour All-America Game ... played for head coach Darren Sunkett at East St. Louis High School ... chose Alabama over Michigan State, Missouri, Oregon and Texas A&M.

We’re competing with the Hosley running back too. NC just offered a first team JUCO running back too.

He was second string LT all year according to several depth charts I saw. Second team LT at Alabama as a redshirt freshman? I think we definitely want to bring this kid in

Edit: Sdot you just beat me to the same post.

Strictly my opinion, but this is where you should be spending your nil dollars. You don't need a great quarterback or running back if the O line is exceptional. Give an average quarterback a consistently clean pocket and he will make plays.

I strongly disagree with this.

A great quarterback covers a multitude of shortcomings.

your insight was just as good brotha…hopefully we can get him gonna be tough.

Totally agree, the old adage is true: if you have a quarterback you have a chance. The most important position in all of sports. This is exactly where you spend NIL, whether bringing in a starter or retaining one
I’m a chiefs fan since I was a kid and having to watch Mahomes makes plays this year, when his offensive line isn’t blocking is still insane to see.

This either/or mentality is irritating to me. How about we have a great QB with a great OL? How 'bout that for something to aspire to?
