Class of 2026 OL Roseby Lubintus (NJ) COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE (7/9/25)

A serious question. Do we need to be afraid of too much success? I mean, it’s just a matter of time before the big guys ( SEC, b10) start calling coach brown? I know, we just can hope coach brown wants really to build something different in syracuse, but we ‘re all humans with our weaknesses. On the other side, if you go to arkansas or mich state or something like that, you will probably be just one of many…
I'm afraid of heights and the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I can handle success.

Part of what makes Fran who he is. He is honest, and when he was hired he gave his plan for the next 10 years. He said after that he wanted to be with his daughter. For a man of faith, material things are only secondary in your life.
After being here for ten years Fran will have made enough to last a lifetime and beyond.
He wants to leave a legacy of faith, being a good father, friend, and coach.
That will be a full life.

Yes! That’s right flipping guys from Penn State now!

The Qb, and the offense as a whole, was a unicorn.
This is a recruiting forum but I honestly believe we have a chance to be very good on offense this year as well. The OL has talent but can they gel? The WR group has talent as well. Angeli has potential as do the RB’s. We have unproven talent but we have reloaded well. Is Angeli McCord, no but he doesn’t have to be as I believe the OL can take a step forward from last year. The talent is there,

My opinion only -- Fran Brown is a northeast guy. Not sure that his recruiting area extends as well to the B1G [I know, I know -- the big programs recruit everywhere].

I'm more scared about Penn State and Rutgers than anyone else. And RU only because that's his home state, and might mean something to him. No idea whether he'd be tempted by Penn State, if that job ever opens up.

Otherwise, I think that as long as we continue to provide Brown with the resources he needs, we don't have much to worry about. He can be a legend here, or just another coach in a loaded SEC.
I live in jersey and there is literally zero Rutgers football presence. It could disappear tomorrow and 99% of the people here wouldn’t notice, especially south Jersey kids. Definitely an NFL state

If and when Fran leaves, it will be because he rebuilt Syracuse Football into the program it was meant to be. Hopefully it's further down the road than the next 2-3 years.

Enjoy the ride while it's happening.

Right, but Fran Brown is all about New Jersey football, and is a NJ native. I'm not suggesting he WOULD go to Rutgers, just that it might be tempting, as a New Jersey native. I qualify that concern by acknowledging that I have zero visibility into Brown's thought process, or whether he'd consider leaving SU for any other northeast program.

What I'm HOPING is that he is comfortable here, and that he wants to continue building HERE, and that being in the northeast in a state adjacent to NJ satisfies him. I'd hate to lose him to a Penn State because of that being a blue chip program, or RU just because that's the big school in his home state.

That's all I'm saying.

I think he's showing through both the on-field results last year and on the recruiting trail that he can build a winner at Syracuse University, and I want to see that continue.

Google tells me Schiano gets $6.25m/year and I believe Cuse can and would match or beat that anyway.

What about Trenton State? ;)

Yup

I think its a very similar situation to Dabo with Bama. Many people had him going to Bama after Saban, but he truly fell in love with building Clemson and sees himself as roaylty there.

Fran has mentioned how amazing it would be to have a Boeheim like impact and realizes how far beyond the bank account doing something like that goes.

Well have to support him and pay him (and staff) but if he build what many of us think he can, I think he will stay to enjoy the fruits of his labor that will go way beyond how rich he gets (and he will become very rich here)
