I thought guys were often found and interviewed at the annual coaching convention. Is that a relic of the past? That's logical but sadly, not how the coaching circle tends to work. Guys hook up with guys they previously coached with far too often, regardless of results. I hope we don't do that again but that's how we got Dale (Nixon connection). Addazio will likely push his son for the gig.
This is where we should offer a Belichick-like scenario. We'll take the kid as an assistant to and heir apparent for the dad. Only in this case, we're only talking OL, and not HC. Perhaps we get dad to stay long enough to put in the playoffs.I thought guys were often found and interviewed at the annual coaching convention. Is that a relic of the past?
Is Addazio's kid any good.
I'm sure that happens too but the OL coaching circle is pretty tight and there are only so many D-1/P4 jobs.I thought guys were often found and interviewed at the annual coaching convention. Is that a relic of the past?

I don't see Fran as someone who is afraid to take a big swing.Surely a long shot but if we hire new OL coach one of the first calls should be Phil Trautwein from Penn st.
One of most technical coaches out there and great recruiter. NJ native and Addazio disciple so some connections there. He would cost a fortune and would be a battle trying to get him since he’ll be in high demand but he would be a home run.
Or even off tackle. Something other than straight ahead. I'm not down on him like some have been. With a meh oline, now no passing game to keep defenses honest, and an uninspired running scheme, he's still averaging over 4 ypc.Willis would be better if we ran more toss sweep type plays with his style of running
