I just read an article from Orange Fiz concerning how the oline will determine the outcome of the season.
I could not agree more. I’ll start by saying that I hope our oline is dominant this year. However, I have concerns.
I’ll admit I am not a Coach Cav fan. I know others will disagree but I do place blame on the position coach when a unit does not perform well. I know people will say last year was based on injuries and the line improved. However if you look at the oline since Coach Cav arrived they have under performed. ED with his athleticism hid a lot of the issues. Every time the line broke down he was able to make something happen. That was magnified last year when TD was not able to show the same skill set to get out of trouble when the line broke down.
Also the run game has not been to the level needed to be successful. Some will argue that it was play calling but it seemed like the oline was never able to consistently open up holes.
I remember when Coach Cav was hired hearing that when he was at Nebraska the running game suffered but he was good at coaching for pass protection. I felt that was a reason he was hired. Unfortunately both aspects have seemed to underperform on his watch.
Like I said in the beginning I hope the oline is dominant this year.
Time will tell.

Line was better last 4 games add in transfer, another year of experience for line and Devito, I expect huge progress. Adams and RBs need to be able to break arm tackles

I think Adams will explode getting the bulk of the carries. Neal was a good dependable and serviceable RB but we need better. I'm predicting Adams breaks 1000.

FYI Tommy’s injury prevented him from moving much . Very few people would have played when you can’t breath , and when you jog the bounce alone makes you cringe . Judge him this season not last season

Thanks dad.

in some of the last 4 games, Howard was literally carrying the pile, and the line was pushing the pile.

Not falling behind early, allowed dimension in the last 4, instead of teeing off on the blitz.

Both lines always determine the season.
