On to LSU

You just cited FSU and Clemson as your evidence?

I would argue NOT getting blown out by those two teams would be the exception and not the rule for 90% of D1 teams (regardless of TV coverage)
Dude you're totally missing my point... this has actually very little to do with the current regime. Since the turn of the century, starting with Coach P, we have had an abhorrent record in "big games", regardless of the status of the program and who the coach is. It's actually, for me, and others, almost comical how epic the beatdowns have been. We have had announcers literally laughing at how badly we were playing (hello Kirk Herbstriet). If you deny this then you are viewing the world in the most orange tinted glasses ever made.

I really that with dungey we would had either a closer loss or victory. I didn't watch that game and didn't have a lot of expectations but we played them pretty tough

We can look at the Lsu beat down two ways. Did they lose because they are having a down year and we can possibly expose that and win or did they just have an off week and are going to stomp us. I'm worried about our oline and running game plus it seems out tempo isn't as fast as it should be. Hopefully Dino has us turned down thinking we can surprise them.

I'm hoping that the LSU offense and the SU defense keeps the Cuse in this game. Curious to see what kind of tiger comes out on Saturday night...a hungry mean one or one that is dazed and confused. Hope SU can punch them hard and keep their confidence low.

Just roll the ball out and see what happens...
Prognostication only works before the game and no game is decided before it's played, so most words are meaningless as the game is decided on the field. We've lost games we should have won and won games we should have lost. If we can compete with them on any level, who knows what will happen? We have some playmakers and the defense has been respectable, though LSU will be a great test for our front 7. I hope Dino will find a way to stay in the game, keep the crowd from the billion decibel level, and see which team plays the best at the end...

My freshman year (2001) we were ranked like 13th and got smoked by Miami. It definitely seems like that happens every couple years when we think we have a chance going into the game.

Miami, VaTech, Purdue, Ga Tech, FSU, BYU, Washington, Iowa, WVU, PSU ...

LSU is under a new regime. They are still making adjustments. The one adjustment they are NOT making is to move to a quick strike offense. They are a ground oriented team and are staying that course. They have elite level athlete's with a new staff/direction/plan.

Syracuse must play a good game, limit errors and catch a couple breaks, but they can win.

LSU Has Fifth-Longest Non-Conference Home Winning Streak Of All-Time
- With 48 consecutive wins over non-conference opponents at home in Tiger Stadium, the LSU football team can lay claim to having the longest among current teams and the fifth-longest ever in college football.
- The last loss at home to a non-SEC opponent came in 2000 against UAB, but since 2001 LSU has gone unblemished when playing in front of their home fans. The only other team to have a longer streak in the modern era was Miami from 1985-94 with 48, putting LSU within striking distance just two away.
- Here's a look at the longest non-conference home winning streaks:
Team Years Non-Conference Home Win Streak
1. Harvard 1890-1895 55
2. Carlisle 1901-1915 54
3. Yale 1886-1895 50
4. Wisconsin 1897-1909 50
5. LSU 2001-Present 48
Miami (FL) 1985-1994 48
2017 LSU Football Game Notes & Transcripts
It's relatively easy when you're a program of LSU's caliber to never lose non-conference games at home when you never play non-conference P5 teams at home. The last time they played a P5 non-SEC school at home was 5 years ago.

So you're saying LSU is due for a non conference loss? I like it.

I choose to think they were looking ahead to Syracuse week.;)

they will be down at least 2 starters on D for targeting and possibly one more hurt.. In addition the stud RB got dinged and didnt play the 2nd half. we could be down 2-3 starters on offense too and not sure on D if we are down a man there
I believe they only have to sit the first half no?

I'm pretty sure the SEC views us a non-p5 and that's why they scheduled us. Time to show them the error of their ways :)

I completely agree. I'm sure they will be looking past us because they have to play the Troy Trojans next week.
