1. As others have mentioned, it could be a failed drug test. Hate to say that about a kid but it is possible. Gut feel is that it isn't, but who knows. SU does test prior to the NCAA's I believe and this would be the timing.

2. Could be academics. He was ineligible, all the talk of appeals, appeals were denied, but then we still found a way to get him eligible. Maybe the NCAA took a look knowing they had denied the appeals and said...ummmm...no.

Question if it is grades: how the hell could he have played at all this semester, then? And are we going to have to vacate anything? I wouldn't expect to, but of the NCAA deems we were playing an ineligible player...

Either way - Derrick Coleman needs to kick his ass from one side of the campus to the other. Not kidding.

if its drug use...doesn't our policy say they cannot play until they are clear? Does that leave the door open...

ESPN said "will not play in any tournament games"

Could he have violated court orders and had contact with the former girlfriend? Would that make him ineligible.

"This is an academic issue related to the first suspension," a source told ESPN.com's Dana O'Neil. "He was initially cleared after the first suspension but the NCAA has since revisited the case and deemed him ineligible again."

Makes sense.

Makes sense.
It does... and it doesn't.

If there's nothing new then the NCAA screwed up the first time.
Disappointing.

Disappointing.

Did they make the decision the first time?

What would prompt the NCAA to "revisit" this issue??????? They're more corrupt than the Mafia.

Hopefully this doesn't put our bid in jeopardy as well; jesus.
