Not just Chinese labor but Chinese oppression with regard to freedom in Hong Kong and in China itself. LBJ showed himself to be a complete ignoramus on the topic.

How weird that he’d be more informed about injustices ravaging his own community. Again, choosing to fight for a specific reason or group does not mean you don’t care about the others. To point this out is deflection and what non allies do.

Oh please these guys are multi millionaires making money off everything from the everyday fan to slave labor in communist China. Please spare me the high horse these players are riding in on. Sports are about competition and losing yourself for those brief 4 quarters. I have a lot of police officers as friends and not one of them are out trying to murder ppl. At the end of the day there is a common denominator with these tragic deaths. Someone broke the law and often time repeatedly and police officers where called. Are there bad eggs in the police departments, yes but the vast majority is here to protect you and I. If everyone followed a simple rule, don’t break the law, we wouldn’t Have these issues.

Many are dumb and poorly trained to handle these situations. Unnecessary deaths happen too often.

Every cop that I knew as a kid was a complete dumbass in school - and I doubt they’ve changed much.

If play by play announcers want to go to an appropriate place to make speeches about causes, I whole heatedly embrace their right to do so, and encourage it. Just don't invite me to listen to you call a game, then change the game.
Players can do what they want. When I watch games, which is not as often as I used to, for many reasons, I don't turn on the start of the games.
God forbid that there be a discussion of all of the facts, rather than the politically appropriate portions of the facts.
Where would we be if Floyd and Blake had obeyed lawful orders of the police (and for Floyd, the court)?
Not excusing the deaths, but just do what's requested of you, and you are still alive.

It‘s easy for you to say “just do what’s requested of you” ... black men know that sometimes you do that and still get shot, evidence planted on you, beaten, etc. That’s an alien idea to white people.

You have a mute button. But also sometimes it’s good to hear things and arguments you disagree with. Listening is a way to take a step towards justice.

NBA: You can write any social justice slogan you feel is appropriate.
Player: I want "Free Hong Kong" on mine.
NBA: Except for that.

Did you know if you go to the NBA official fan site, you can customize a jersey to say anything you want on the back. However if you put in "Free Hong Kong" it will deny your request. I guess the NBA's love for all lives has a price attached to it.

So when the new, woke NBA is pushing "social justice" it just feels a lot like virtue signaling.

Virtue signaling = “I’m uncomfortable because I’m not doing x, but if I call it virtue signaling I can poo poo what their doing and still feel good about my inaction or hostility to their cause”

Instead of pooing on what their trying to accomplish, why don’t you funnel your energy into some pro-HK group? It’s not either or. Both are bad.

Will spaz about China but play dumb about Russia.

Those people are funny.

I was excited when I saw Cadets in the Army stands. For a moment, I thought we might be allowed limited fans. Lasted until they showed cut outs/photos of the players parents in the visiting stands.. :-/

Makes sense, in their situation, that some are allowed. As future officers, their adherence to mask rules were unmatched. Seeing all of those push-ups in the stands made it feel like football was back. I LOVE that tradition!
Federal land they could have had more fans if they wanted. USMA is just being a good neighbor by playing along with NY's rules. Until the quarantines get relaxed most parents can't attend anyways.
