I gave him a snowballs chance in hell of being any factor in even a meaningless NBA game and he shoved it down my throat. And I couldn’t be happier for him.

Not trying to say you or anyone were wrong (or even criticize anyone), but this is why I don't like when fans question a kid entering the draft early. We don't know anything about their situation or what scouts think about them or even their dedication to get better. As a side benefit, players succeeding in the NBA is a huge boost for SU and recruiting.
