Knob Creek 9 is a great choice.Just had to revive the thread. Lately starting to check out some moderate priced bourbons. Taking any suggestions under consideration. Recently tried and enjoyed Knob Creek Kentucky Straight 9 yr, and Breckenridge. These may be on the lower end of moderate for some of you. I have a few others that I would like to try after reading some earlier posts.
Tempted to try Eagle Rare from reviews but price is a stretch for me.Knob Creek 9 is a great choice.
If you like Buffalo Trace products - I'm a fan, especially Eagle Rare - look at Benchmark Bottle and Bond for more value price versions. Benchmark is the same Buffalo Trace mash bill, but with less aging and different proofs. Look at Benchmark full proof if you like higher proof stuff.
IMO, worth the price. IF you can find a bottle this fall, I don't think you will regret it.Tempted to try Eagle Rare from reviews but price is a stretch for me.
It should be $80 or less. I have seen some ridiculous prices, and it's not worth it. Retail price is $60-70 now. It was $30 before the pandemic. It is worth it if you get a better price. It's essentially buffalo trace aged 10 years. I wish it was slightly higher proofTempted to try Eagle Rare from reviews but price is a stretch for me.
If you live in a state that allows shipping alcohol, I've recommended on here a few times now, but you can buy JT Meleck's whiskey from Bourbon Outfitters for a really fun rice whiskey that tastes like a smooth bourbon. Their cheaper whiskey (which is my personal preference between the two, but most people like the more expensive one) is $45 before shipping costs.Tempted to try Eagle Rare from reviews but price is a stretch for me.
What are your thoughts on the Old Elk cigar blend?Green river full proof is excellent and like 55, also wheel horse is super solid for around 40 . They make probably the best cigar blend under a 100. Really enjoyed both the bardstown and penelope wheaters if your in to weller. Obviously not weller but both are easy to find and significantly cheaper

Never had it, was told by two people that its terrible and being like 120 a bottle have steered clear. What are your thoughts on the Old Elk cigar blend?
Thanks. I was dissuaded by the price and will avoidNever had it, was told by two people that its terrible and being like 120 a bottle have steered clear.
If you like scoth the dalmore cigar blend is good but not worth the $ in my opinion and im a dalmore fanboy. I have a bottle of joseph magnus cigar blend that ive been waiting to crack open with a buddy. Ive been looking for the penelope one but no luck thus far. I had a cooper and cask that was pretty good but that was in the 80 range.Thanks. I was dissuaded by the price and will avoid
