OT: Anyone else notice how bad the Knicks still are...

If that team *if healthy, isnt able to advance far into the playoffs then something is rotten in Denmark. That is a friggin good team. It does seem from all accounts that the Knicks are holding that 2.5 mil for K-Mart.

The only thing on advancing far in the playoffs; you're facing either Miami or Chicago in round 2. That team isn't better than Miami or Chicago. And Miami and Chicago probably aren't going anywhere in the next 3-5 years.

I am down on the Knicks right now, but it still is only 3 games. I see the Knicks the next few years as being in the range they were between the finals appearances in 94 and 99; they should be able to win 50ish games and a playoff series every year, but they are going to need to get better to go any further.

Melo does look to be in a Dominique Wilkins spot, circa 1988. Star player who will never have much playoff team success.

Melo will forever be one of my favorite basketball players, but I have to admit I love watching the Nuggets without him. The team plays better defense, moves the ball well, and has just been flat-out better without him.

And as I've mentioned before, I don't think the Knicks will ever win a title with D'Antoni as coach. Couple that with the defensive liabilities that are Carmelo and Amare, and there's no way they ever beat the Heat in the East.

Amare plays no defense. If you "actually" watch the Knicks, Melo does play solid defense , albeit in spurts as does the team as a whole right now. Last year they played no defense, this year they are at least playing lock down D in spurts. Melo is called a bad defender because of his reputation...hes a totally different player since coming to NY.

LOL @ everyone sh****ing on the Knicks after 4 games. They are 2-2 with Baron Davis, Iman Shumpert and Jared Jeffries injured. Barely a training camp with a team that hasnt had time to play with each other. Still have the 2.5 mil exception to sign someone later this season. Lets see if everyones still laughing at them at the end of the year.
