OT best thing about fall is homemade applesauce

Has anyone ever had apple butter over say cottage cheese? Another oldie but goodie.

Not sure if they still make these, but this is what my mom had when we were kids.

They still sell them. Recently used mine to seed wild cranberries to make cranberry chutney (wild cranberries, cinnamon, vinegar, brown sugar) to go over meat, salmon, pasta and salad. I'd tell you where my highbush cranberry patch is but then I'd have to kill you. If you are on my XMAS list you get a 3 cup sealed jar. I've had apple butter over yogurt.

Applesauce is the universal side-dish for everything. It does go great with cottage cheese and I especially love it with spaghetti.

I don't know about you guys, but I prefer the homemade stuff because I just can never bring myself to pay for applesauce. You never know where the stuff you have to pay for has been, and it could have all sorts of undesirable things in it that could get you really sick.
