OT: Bills look likely to sign Williams, Meachem

This would be the biggest thing to happen to the Bills in the last 10 years, God please let it happen.
 
The Bills don't get it.

It's all about the QB and they don't have a good one.

Yep I would anticipate them drafting defense in the first round and just trying to build as impressive a D as possible, and rely on the running game to burn clock.

I do think Ryan Fitzpatrick is better than Alex Smith, but even with Mario Williams, I think they have a ways to go before their defense is as good as the 49ers.
 
Well, looks like I caused us not to sign Meachem, but based on the money he got, thats ok with me.

I disagree and not because I am a Bills fan. If you think about it the Bills have a front four any team would love to have if Williams signs. Then You have Barnett at WLB Sheppard at the MLB and Kirk Morrison at SLB playing behind to great space eaters in Kyle Williams and Dareus. Then you have Byrd, McGee, and Aaron Williams in the secondary. You are one CB in the draft away from being a top 10 defense that is overall pretty young for the most part. The 49ers just happen to have the best LB in football on defense. I think overall talent wise the Bills could have a better defense and we would now have or own stud to bank on.

The 49ers also have the best young pash rusher in the game and the best interior lineman last year...and Willis and Bowman are two of the top 5 LBs in the game.

It's not close.

Last time I checked Paul played for the Giants so yeah it's close if Williams signs. You can't honestly think Bowman is nearly as productive without playing next to Willis. People would kill to get in that spot

Agreed...I'm not a Bills fan, btw, my family is though.

I'm just amazed at all the news and hullabaloo on these FAs. OOH Brandon Marshall to the Bears. OOOH Mario Williams is definitely nice, but in the end you need an elite QB. As an Eagles fan i went through this last year with Nnahmdi and Jenkins. They were fine (NA definitely not as good as I hoped more due to gameplan), but the team didn't make the playoffs because Vick was hurt half the year and wasn't that good when he did play.


These teams with their Joe Flaccos and Alex Smiths ...and Fitzpatricks will get to a point, then lose. If they are ok with that, fantastic.

Much like you I am a non-Bills fan in a family of Bills fans. In regards to your last point I know most of my family would be happy with just getting to the playoffs because they are so very tired of losing.

Between checking for Mario updates every 5 secs today and March Madness beginning tomorrow i have officially become useless at work a day ahead
Of time. In terms if the Bills defense. They have Wanny and a 4-3 which could have Mario/Kyle/Dareus/Kelsay. Thats pretty nasty.

I would take either one in a heart beat he is a beast not trying to down play his ability. IMO I just think Paul is better so that pretty much means nothing. Now can they sign freaking Williams so I can do some work with out considering jumping off the loading dock behind my office.
 
I would be way more productive if we received any news good or bad, lets just get it over with.
 
I should have known yesterday when WGR was saying the Bills would have both signed in 24 hours that this was gonna end up like every other FA signing we attempt. So frustrating to go through this year after year after year.

According to the news he is at the Sabers game tonight and is staying until tomm. Just got off the Bills board they said WGR or something like that reported it

Apparently a "We Want Mario" chant broke out in the 300 level.

Yeah, by the third superbowl, i knew this team was going to forever be the most snake bit franchise going forward. If only norwood kicks the ball a few yards to the left, its known as one of the great dynasties of all time. instead...lovable losers.
