I guess you don't remember Melo coming to the Knicks huh?

Really is there any precedent for a 3day FA visit? Even as a pessimist I'm thinking positively about this until he leaves town.

Yea but Melo wasnt in NY, not signing a contract yet, hanging out with the team, not signing a contract yet, touring the city, not signing a contract yet, flying his fiancee in and not signing a contract yet.

I'm not a Bills fan, but there's no reason for someone to be in town for FA negotiations for 3 days unless he's house hunting. I'd be optimistic.

Hes either using the Bills for leverage or hes being extremely careful about his decsision which is cool with me. I have no idea which way to lean. I find completely sadistic to use a franchise, their ownership and fans for 3 days, going to meetings, Sabres games, restaurants, team facilities if you have no intention of signing there. I can understand Meachem, flew to Buffalo and the first night he was in Buff got offered the #1 wr spot in SD, cant blame him for that. However, Mario has flown his fiancee in, met with players 3 days in a row, met with players families, gone to team meetings for 3 days now. Me personally, I find it twisted if hes just going to this unprecedented extent to squeeze out an offer from another team.

Being he flew his fiancée in, I think it's a decent sign he is trying to sell her on the city, and himself at the same time. I'm far from certain, but I think that leans more toward being a good sign than a bad one. Big day for upstate NY sports.

Really hoping. Greeny on Mike and Mike just talked about Manning and Mario and said "it looks like Mario is going to Buffalo, we'll see".

Listening to WGR they are saying that it is getting close to being done.

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the move will be officially announced at a 12:30PM ET press conference. Contract terms are not yet available, but the Bills are widely expected to make Williams the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. Bears RE Julius Peppers has held the honor since March 2010, where he signed a six-year, $84 million deal that included $42 million guaranteed. It's a safe bet Williams' pact will dwarf those numbers. From a football perspective, the Bills provide Williams a chance to move back to his natural position of defensive end as they switch from a 3-4 to 4-3 defensive front. The No. 1 overall pick of the 2006 draft has notched 53.5 sacks in 82 career games.

Wow. Never thought I'd see the bills grab a major FA again.
