This is crazy! Why is the NFC East so damn incestuous. Seems like the majority of big name NFC East players stay in the NFC East when they get traded/signed (I know Shady just went out of conference).

I thought the Eagles were going to take major steps back with all the moves they've made recently but if they do in fact get Demarco that puts them back in a powerful position, especially if Bradford is healthy.

As an Eagles fan, I like the pick up, if it happens. I hate the Cowboys, but Demarco is a great RB and would do well in the Eagles system. You make a good point that Bradford needs to be healthy though, I not impressed with Sanchez as a backup.

Murray had one good year and that was the only year he stayed healthy. Even then he still broke his hand. Looks like Chip is continuing his trend of going with guys who cannot play a whole season.

in 2011 there was a surge in masking tape sales in the tri-state area as everyone busted out their Jeremy Shockey jersey's and taped 'Cruz' on it.

I'm rationalizing, but now I wonder if Chip's plan is to take advantage of so many teams essentially using nickel as their base d because of all the 3-4 wide offensive formations and he'll just run like crazy.

It's something, right?!?!

Eagles fan here and with these pick ups, this team has some real potential. I'm just hoping I'm not watching Sanchez hand the ball off to Polk in week 6

Need a Safety and a WR. Wouldn't be shocked if they picked up Hundley or another developmental QB in the draft.

Best news for Eagles fans? Nate Allen is finally gone!!!

Could Mike Wallace work ? Wouldn't be expensive and a different skillset then Mathews/Cooper

My dream is to trade up for Amari Cooper. Would be fun "Cooper Brothers" marketing too

I don't think they're trading up. There are some nice options at WR behind the top 2 though. Smith or Dorsett both can peel the top off a defense or perhaps Parker falls to them as another big WR opposite Matthews.

Murray has had several good years in a row, with last year being a legit stud year.

4 years in the league and only last season did he play all 16 games. And only has 2 years of the 4 over 1k in yards.

You also have to hope that he bucks the trend of guys who carried as much as he did last year.

He is a good back but Shady is better.

Let's see how he does playing outside in December, too.

Murray, Ryan Mathews, and Sproles.

Fantasy Hell.

When do the Cowpokes sign Adrian Peterson?

Sounds suspiciously like a Cowboys fan rationalizing the loss of their star RB to me.

I love Shady - and I like Murray. But I really like Murray and Alanso for the price of Shady.

His injury history is there for anyone to see. 1 year out of 4 without missing games.

With our OL we will have no trouble replacing the production.

Will be interesting to see. For their careers McCoy has played 47 more games and has 500 carries worth of wear overall but not as compacted as Murray's year was last year.

I love this pickup. Especially because the Cowboys still have next to no cap room, and they have a massive hole at RB. Even if they go RB in the first round, they're trying to fill a hole they didn't have until today. While they've kept several key players, they've lost depth at DL (Melton), LB (Carter and Durant) and OL (Parnell). And Dez is still a year-to-year player.

The reason the Cowboys succeeded last year was due in large part to the fact that Murray took so much pressure off of Romo. The entire equation has changed now. Even if they acquire Peterson, they'd have to trade for him and clear some serious cap room.

The Cowboys will be fine with a RB from the 5th round. If they waste any resources to acquire Peterson or someone similar, I will be extremely disappointed. People must be watching a different league than me. I think RBs are becoming as interchangeable as kickers and punters.

Yeah eagles got a great pick up, if you ignore the fact that they signed two of the most injury prone players in the league (mathews and bradford). Along with adding another severely injured player Alonso. as far as wrs they also lost Maclin and have only Jordan Matthews and a crappy overrated te Ertz that never panned out, oh and the racist dude cooper. Oh and old chippy is about to trade their two time pro bowl offensive lineman Mathis. So yeah great pick up if you can ignore their other moves.

Or, you could argue that Kelly took advantage of the league's recent tendency to undervalue RB's and got good value at a reasonable price.

And, cusetown, if you're gonna be consistent, then you have to point out that Maclin had a good season, but it was after a season where he suffered a debilitating injury. And, in his best year, which 2014 was, he was still only the 14th-ranked WR, according to Pro Football Focus. PFF argues that the Chiefs grossly overpaid for Maclin. Zach Ertz is not 'grossly overrated'. He's an emerging pass-catching TE who must develop his blocking. Barring injury, he'll be better, not worse, this year. Matthews is already a quality slot receiver. I agree that the Birds need to address WR, but they've still got the tools to do it, either in free agency or in the draft.

I'm still not happy with what Philly paid for Bradford. And I think the Birds overpaid for Maxwell. But I really like this move for Murray. He's not gonna have to be a total bell-cow since Mathews will back him up. And Dallas now has a huge hole to fill. Jerry doesn't always do his best work when in panic mode.

Curious take on Zach Ertz not panning out considering he's only entering his third nfl season and coming of a statistically identical season to Jason Whitten.
