Who has had the better career in their respective sport?
Jeter has been a slightly above avg SS for a winning team. if he had played with the Mets would we even be having this discussion?
Yes, rings aside his numbers speak for themselvesJeter has been a slightly above avg SS for a winning team. if he had played with the Mets would we even be having this discussion?
Peyton Manning is just this generation's Dan Marino with 1 SB win unlike Marino.
gotta go with Peyton.Who has had the better career in their respective sport?
MVPs in football are a joke. Only QBs or RBs can win them. They are about who puts up the best stats not who is actually most valuable. Any decent QB with Denver's WR core last year would have put up ridiculous stats. Same with Brady in 2007.But are you factoring in that Peyton has 5 MVPs to Marino's 1?
gotta go with Peyton.
how many MVP's?? 5? 6?
hes got a title, been to 2 others.
Jeter has been awesome for sure, but as arod once so eloquently said..."Jeter has never had to lead. He can just go and play and have fun. He hits second — that's totally different than third or fourth in the lineup. You go into New York, you wanna stop Bernie [Williams] and Paul [O'Neill]. You never say, 'Don't let Derek beat us.' He's never your concern.”
theres a lot of truth in that insult.
love me some Jeter, but Mr Bounce into a Double Play, I mean, Mr Clutch...doesnt really have the killer numbers that Peyton puts up.
good point.Brett Favre had great numbers too. Why doesn't anyone consider him close to being the best of all time?
Don't let John Madden read what you wrote. Madden slurped Favre more than any player during his time as a broadcaster. Simms slurps Brady more than Manning, but does slurp both but not the Madden-Favre level.Brett Favre had great numbers too. Why doesn't anyone consider him close to being the best of all time?

Favre won 3 MVPs in a row, but that dude gambled more than Ben Affleck in Vegas. Manning is a great QB, but the rules protecting QBs and preventing DBs from touching WRs after 5 yards have inflated this QB generation's numbers. Manning has 5 MVPs 1 SB wins, Brady has 2 MVPs, 3 SB wins. Just like A-Rod 3 MVPS 1 WS, Jeter 0 MVP(however this Sox fan would concede Mauer or Morneau forget which one of them stole one MVP from Jeter) 5 WS titles.
Jeter. I am a Red Sox/Patriots fan. I respected 2 Yankees Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.
Jeter never hit the HRs of your prototypical 3rd or 4th hitter, but always hit in the .300s played decent SS and was a clutch player. Jeter didn't put up the A-Rod power, but he was the better player for the Yankees.I'm actually a Braves fan. Oddly enough I really can't stand any northeast professional teams except for the Bills. As much as I don't like the Yankees, I do like Jeter and Rivera. I actually thought Jeter was overrated for the first part of his career but he's to the points now when the numbers speak for themselves. I can't help but respect the guy and the way he has handled himself during his career.

No, because he would've broken his ankle four times and the Wilpons would probably stock the locker room with whatever he is allergic to.
Jeter. .312 career hitter. Mr clutch in playoffs. 4-5 gold gloves. Great great leader. 5 Rings. 3,000 hits.
First ballot HOFer.
