The Bills didn't "pass" - he left them because he didn't want to deal w/ new ownership that didn't hire him.

Well said. I don't have a huge issue with NFL coaches doing whatever they want when it comes to the score. It's pro sports for Christ sake. I think his case is pretty well documented. He's just a weird dude with a lot of baggage between the ears who doesn't want to be questioned about much of anything. I do think he's a very very good football coach, he just makes it hard on himself a lot of the times with his public perception. I have to imagine Coughlin said, " Really Doug?"

This could be a multitude of things. Maybe he was to get more game experience going for 2 for later? Maybe he was trying to stick it to someone. Perhaps he just wanted to give the kickers leg some rest or he didn't want to waste the time switching units on the field? Okay... it was likely a middle finger.
