A buddy and I were talking last night about the upgrades getting done at the dome and he told me there there will no longer be BK.. Told me that it is getting change to a "specialty Stand". More beer options and different food that you can't get anyplace else there.. He also said that the ribbon board is starting and also NEW REPLAY BOARDS are going to be put in.. So I guess there are some upgrades being done...

I've never seen the BK in the dome. Maybe I just didn't notice or I'm not sitting in that price category. I would love new beer options b/c I'm already sneaking in close to a 6 pack every game and one of these days one of those bottles is getting to hit the ground on the way in.

They charge 2.5 times what a normal BK does ... never bought anything from there but a lot of people in my section do ... never understood spending $45 on BK to feed a family at the game instead of a nice delicious dome dog or two :)

Again man, what section is this! I need to know before getting my tickets!

So the corner completely opposite the opposing teams fan section correct?

I guess if you're going to charge anyone 3x for a Whopper...better the opposing team's fans then ours.

In all seriousness, this isn't a half bad idea. More craft beers would be preferred over the Anheuser Busch / Labatts offerings. There used to be a stand in the dome that sold Magic Hat and Saranac...but I didn't see it there last season.

Burger King was on the first level, northeast corner. Like 120 or so?

I made the mistake of getting a Whopper there early in the 2011 basketball season. Easily one of the five most disgusting things I've ever eaten. Good riddance.

In Dome improvements news, it's difficult to get close to the building these days. The lot that runs along the north side of the building is closed for construction. Utility work, I guess. I'll try to get to the other side and get a look at the scoreboard work.

Never ate there. Price was way to much.

They should put in a McDonalds though so I can get a McGangBang.

I guess. The only reason I know where BK was had to do with my kids wanting fries at a BBall game...and we had to walk ALL THE WAY AROUND the Dome and down a level just to get them. The Dome staff must not have considered that people going to BBall games would want BK. It was the first and last time I made that hike.

Now, for a specialty brew, I might make the trek more than once.

The prices at that BK were outrageous. I think a "combo meal" was like $9.00 and change. What I always found shocking was the line at that place was always long as well. People were lining up to pay those crazy prices.

What I also always found amazing about the Dome is for Basketball games they set up that little Italian food place on the 1st level in one of the regular concession stands. But for football they don't have the Italian food and they change it back to just regular hot dogs, soda, and pop corn.

I'm not saying the Italian food is Santangelo's or Avicolli's or anything but it was something different at least. Could get a meatball sub or a small plate of ziti or something. Why they don't have that place for football I never understood. Offer something a little different.

Good idea.

How about bringing "P-Z-O's" from the State Fair - I would do that.

The BK stand is over by Sec 120/121 which is the endzone right next to a Labatt stand. My section is not to far away and I usually go to the Labatt stand at halftime so I have seen the lines people talk about and to be honest I dont get it either the food is way overpriced and the people who are making it look like they have zero clue. Glad to hear there going to be doing something different the dome desperately needs some revamped food options, its feels like the 1980's. some craft beers or even NYS wines would probably go over well. Would love to see a Dino stand but the logistics might be to much.

I always felt like if you wanted fast food why not wait till the game is over and get it at half the price. Or you should have went beforehand. Why pay double in the Dome. That never made sense. Now I am not a big eater at these games. I go to the games for the game itself. I might have a beer or soda but thats it. I bought a ticket to watch a game not to eat. I understand with little kids its different and all but to pay double for BK in the Dome I always found insane.

Since I don't eat at these games I really don't care what they do and they don't need to make it Yankee Stadium with Sushi and all of that stuff. But they could add a variety or a little something. Hell cut a deal with Wegmans and let Wegmans come in and make Subs or something in a few places inside the Dome. Stuff like that. Mix it up a bit.

Pretty much agree with everything you said. I dont really eat at the dome either as the fine lot tailgate before and after the game is usually more then enough. However for families and people who dont tailgate I can see why they might have to or want to get something to eat at the Dome. Wegmans has good subs and sushi so I think you hit on something there but I dont know if for 6-7 (5 this year) home games it is worth it financially for Wegman. Yes theres basketball season but I think SU does more with there food selection for basketball allready. As you and I both noted just something new or a couple different stands woudl make a huge difference.

Agreed. Especially when all the other concession prices are so reasonable.

A lot of food places are run by charities. A friend of mine works at one that is run for a chearleading squad that compets all over the north east. She gets credit towards her daughter's bill by working there. It works out great for them. That might have something to do with higher prices.

I got a chicken parm sammich from that place once. It was pretty solid.

The Loud House Grille and the other converted concession stand near 101 were great adds. The latter had a bunch of beers available as well, which was cool. Glad to hear they're doing more stuff like it. That BK was gross anyway.

Ribbon boards and video boards should be in for the first game. I'm very happy this is happening.

Only thing i got from BK was about 3000 too many calories and a case of Diarrhea. When you got to drop a deuce for the Cuse, the Dome ain't the place. I think i high tailed it down to Marshall Square Mall.

agreed BK has got to go we got a couple woppers there at the start of a football game and they were cold in the middle. I think they make them somewhere else and ship them in. I would hate to order from there after halftime. Being from Rochester, the Dome needs to take a look at the food stands at Red Wings Stadium. I know there is a differance between a dome and a open stadium, but at a redwings game you can get anything from a Red Osier steak sandwitch to mac'n cheese. As a matter of fact Red Osier is a kind of bbq place that is primarily in stadiums and has a couple moble units for festivels. The dome should have them move in.

New replay boards need to be much bigger to approach respectability -- but how much bigger can they realistically be? Why not just take out the endzone seating in the 300s for football and borrow the new videoboard that was installed at Alliance stadium? The athletic dept is not losing any ticket revenue in that location and fans would be treated to a BCS-quality video presentation. In between score updates, the video board can go into "live action mode" and create the appareance of fans in those seats - just borrow the PS3 EA crowd animations.
