Just after 5:00 pm here is the Syracuse area and the wind gusts have began to increase. There are predictions of 18-24 feet high waves on Lake Ontario!

Hopefully we all get through this safely without power grid interruption.

Some real nasty wind here right now. The house is shaking, but still got power, knock on wood, thank God. Going to be a long night.

storm is weak in syracuse. Overhyped to be sure. Saying the winds will be gone by tomorrow morning, rain is less than an inch

We've been getting rain all day here in DC metro region.. Wind gusts have surely been picking up the last 2-3 hours. Not sure if it's bypassed us or not, but I fear the latter. Stay safe.

I'm In South Jersey but a bit away from AC thankfully been raining a lot and the wind is really kicking up. Power is still on for now and hope that remains.

I'm living it on the Delaware coast.

If I can't get a hold of my mom in Dover should I be worried?

I mean is it bad? We just started getting winds out of the East in Cincinnati, which is weird in and of itself.

I wouldn't be overly worried - their power or phone lane may be out.
Most of the damage is flooding along the coast. Wind gusts to 60 or so - not a lot of structural damage. Also, Dover is inland somewhat.
It's also possible they evacuated to a shelter (I assume they don't have a cell phone).
Let me know when you are in contact with them.

Maybe she is out body surfing.

Very windy and rainy here in the Shenandoah Valley. So far we still have power but has flickered often. 30 mph winds with gusts almost to 60. I expect to lose power during the night with the main concern being loss of heat. It's in the low 40s here. I hope all of you fare well.

Hope everyone stays safe today/tomorrow. We all need to be there when he win the BE and go to orange bowl.

Was evacuated tonight, thankfully a fellow board member took me in for the night!

Where are you?

I know the storm is now expected to be weaker than forecasted, but 18-24 feet waves on Lake Ontario? Have they ever gotten that high before? That must look a little odd

This storm seems to be up manhattan and the eastern coast. Holy crap.

My brother is in lower Manhatten. Says everything below 42nd is out plus hot water was shut off where he is.

And as of now, there is no crossing open (bridge or tunnel) into/out of NYC. Hope all is well with him.
