well, jerk, I actually need people to see this, and respond if they have some smarts on the subject.

This guy (cusetroop) dropped his phone last night. Screen is fine, but now the lil SOB wont charge.

I did. I cant do a hardware reset because my lock button hasent worked in months. I saw that I could take the back off, and maybe wire number 4 came off, and I just have to re connect it but I dont have a screwdriver that small in the office. Maybe at the house, but I'll have to check when I get home.

"Hey cusetroop, why dont you just pony up and get a new phone?!"

Great idea! I've actually been talking to the wife about it for a few weeks. She wants the 5c 32gig thing... I want the 5s 16 gig. Only problem is, since I life in the gosh damn Yukon, the 5s is backordered for like 30 days.

So here are my questions:

Is the 5c really as girly looking as the pictures make them look?

Does anyone have a 5c, or a 5s? Do you like it?

If you were me (aka, a handsome man in Alaska) what would you do in this situation?

I don't have an iPhone so i can't really help but I'd say a 5c wouldn't go well with a beaver hat.

Say goodbye to the iphone and hello to another one like the samsung. My iphone since the ios 7 update deletes my contacts regularly, makes emergency calls sitting there by itself and has all sorts of other glitches going on. Apple is useless .. they tell me I did something.. ( I have an otter box and this is the one phone I have always been careful with)..

but i digress.. when i went with my wife to have her upgrade to the galaxy 4 the sprint woman said that she has had returns the 5c's daily.. and it seems she is getting more returns than purchases.

I'd agree with zoo, get another phone, plan shouldn't matter.

My buddy got three new LG and it's pretty sweet. The galaxy is great too. The new Droid RAZR has a full kevlar back - that's pretty manly.

with sprint - yes currently my wife is on a samsung.. she is the secondary line and I have a iphone. I am upgrading to the Note 3 this weekend so I will find out just how much that changes my plan with sprint and will gladly share.

I have the new HTC One and have not had any problems with it. It is a really nice phone.

It's girly. Pastel colors are not manly in any world, including Apple's

I have a 5 and am very happy, the network engineer I work with has a 5S and loves it. Says camera is phenomenal and very fast cpu

If I was you, I'd make an appt at the Apple Store. Not being able to charge is definitely something you need them to look at.


As for you OrangeZoo: My phone doesn't do any of the things you mentioned. Neither does my kid's Iphone 4. You need to wipe the phone and restore from a backup. Sounds like your OS is corrupt.

I'm not sure Sprint has to much going on up here. Verizon is supposed to be coming up soon.

yea man.. Nearest actual mall.. 350 miles. 8 hours down the Parks Highway, and thats IF there isnt construction. 13+ hours in the winter.

Yeah - my wifes was doing the exact same thing as well however.. and I have encountered this with co-workers too.. doesn't make sense. I want the note 3 to use as a phone/mini tablet anyways and to enjoy the 4g speeds on something larger than an iphone. Been getting 19mb with the 4g at home and 25 at work ( my wife that is) so its more than the phone acting crappy. The fact the apple store nearby is a joke plays a role too.

Regarding your problem, have you tried summoning Thor, the god of thunder, to come to Earth and zap it with lightning?

I got the 5S a couple weeks ago, upgraded from my 4S. I'm not sure it matters where you are, the 5S's are back-ordered everywhere.

Anyway, I love it. It's faster, crisper than the old one. The fingerprint reader doesn't seem like much until you get used to it (a couple days of use) then you felt like a schmuck for sliding your finger and using a silly code to unlock it for so long. I also upgraded to 32gb from 16 just so I'd stop running out of space on it (way too much music that I don't want to manage). The new iOS still has some issues, I've noticed a few minor bugs that crop up every so often and some things crash, but nothing major and nothing like an android phone. I imagine they'll have another update out soon that hopefully will iron out the rough edges.

If you want something quickly, I say just go for the 5C. The main differences are that the camera is better on the 5S, it's got a slightly different processor (I think) and it has the fingerprint scan password bypass (which I love more than I thought I would).

That's why you buy a cool looking Otterbox case, and no one sees the actual color.
